Jacob Hansen I don’t think Portland is nearly as rainy as it is cracked up to be. I grew up in Cleveland where it - at least - feels as though like it rains more and there are more cloudier days for sure.
@EmeraldLeafVids4 жыл бұрын
@@marysunshine170 I have no clue what Cleveland rainfall is like, but being a native Oregonian myself I'm a little surprised to hear anyone say it isn't so bad (rain-wise). Your right though about the overcast; if it isn't raining it's usually cloudy and another rain around the corner. Portland get around 45inch of rain each year and is spread out over 9 months of the year. We can get rain though on 4th of July and beyond, but usually it's clear by mid July. Though there might be rainier places, I think it's for these reasons it feels more rainy than a lot of places, 9months of gloom and a shower being turned on, off, on, off

To enjoy this outdoor persons paradise as some call it, you have to endure shitty policies, and if one is poor, they will rob you blind. Every cheap restaurant has gone up in price. The state steals a lot of my check in which they would not in a No Income Tax state. I have no true freedom in Oregon. I am an outsider from Massachusetts/NH area. I also lived in Florida, Tampa area as I see the creator has Tampa in his/her name. Tampa is superior to Portland, not counting St Petersburg even. The tax is very high to live here. It might not be the sunshine tax, but you get taxed in areas even Florida does not. Portland area is the worst area I ever lived in and I been many places too. Between the people, the culture, everyones rude as fuck.

Sadly people have moved here to get away from where they were. The sad part is that they end up turning the new place into the place they left. I was born in Portland in 1956 and in the 60's we had Governor Tom McCall, his major theme then was " please visit Oregon, but don't stay" . We even had Tee Shirts that were negative about Oregon " people in Oregon don't tan, they rust" . I moved out of Portland , but continued to work there until a few years ago. Growing up this was a beautiful place and enjoyed Portland, but that has changed with growth and the ambivalence to the homeless, the dirty streets, and the violent anti-establishment groups that damage property. Companies have had to go out of business because they are not "Politically correct" , or liberal enough. Good luck and I hope that Portland survives better than San Francisco has.

During the recession when prices were low, many crooked greedy landlords bought up all the housing and apartments. They repainted the junk and more than tripled the rent in less than 10 years. Some used harassing methods, even giving out no cause evictions just to get people out, raise rent max for next tenant. There are flat out NO affordable housing for disabled, elderly and low income poor people. This is why the homeless has increased so much. So if you’ve moved to Oregon and have a high rent, know that there is probably 5 homeless for your shelter, all because of your greedy crooked evil landlord. They flat out put money above human life.

I have lived in Portland all of my life 47 1\2 years I absolutely 💘 it !!! And yes it has changed all !! Some changes for the best and some for the worst just like everywhere else !! Yes the homeless population is crazy or should I say off the hook !! However, the cost of living has gone up so high that it is impossible to make it!! I'm actually considering moving away because I need security I need to know that I can make it on my own and not end up homeless !! Just so you know homeless is not always a choice. There are people out there that have tried to help people and have consequently ended up being homeless themselves !! For single person to make it by themselves in Portland on minimum wage they would have to get 3 full-time jobs which isn't humanly possible to do !! Also have you looked into what the deposits are to get into a place ? And where does that money come from ? Some of weren't born with silver spoons in our mouths !! I have basically he'd to work for everything that I have and I don't have anything including assets of any kind . Right now how I see it is that we are all one step away from being homeless ourselves !! And I fully understand that we have the ones that leave great big messes and just don't care . Also we do have the one's that do care that go the extra mile to clean up after themselves !!! Just food for thought it's not always a choice to be homeless !!

Lol what’s with this propaganda fueled, sitting 800+ miles away, listening to the media and never going out hate toward Portland? I’ve been to Portland about 3x since the whole protest started to happen for business trips, and my last stop was about 2 weeks ago. Sure during the heat of it all, protest were insane, but if you were to walk like 7 blocks away from the federal buildings, it would seem like nothing is happening at all. Portland continuing on as usual and people living their normal lives. Portland is absolutely charming and lovely. So much character to it. The brews are good and the food scene is top notch. Plus, if city life isn’t your thing, their is TOP TIER nature within 30 mins of Portland. People making Portland seem like a total wasteland, but I was just their and all the neighborhoods, and most of downtown was standing gorgeous and unaffected and people resuming their normal life. Sure they have a homeless situation, but compared to LA, where I live and NY, heck, even a republican led city in Dallas, it isn’t out of hand bad. I’ve been all over Europe and the United States and Portland is just special.

If Its official name was "Stump Town", I'd no longer want to relocate there. To be perfectly accurate and unbiased with the presentation of this gorgeous city, there should be shots of it from the not-so-good seasons, showing the gray skies, rain, homeless, etc.

yep, we probalby should do another video showing all the negativesw of Portland. Don't think I'd want to live there now.

@@TampaAerialMedia Rain/drizzle is not so bad and that is why the place is so insanely green with clean air. Plus the people are mostly very laid back and friendly.

Portland is one of those towns that really doesn't reveal itself immediately. In many ways, it's very 'word of mouth' and people/businesses don't advertise. You have to dig deep to meet the kind of people/places you want to connect with because most people here tend to be more reserved/introverted. So when out-of-towners visit they get a boring vibe or a sleepy vibe or rude even. But in my experience, native Oregonians are the nicest people, the most generous people, and the most welcoming. It's also the horticultural capital of America. There are more plants and greenery here than anywhere. It's certainly not for everyone: if you like more big city type energy or a country life, then no. But if you enjoy a balance of a medium city with access to wilderness, mountains, rivers, and the coast, then you could do far far worse than Portland, believe me.

IDK why many people are being negative (creator included) about this city its better looking than most big cities especially New York and Boston and we have a unique green style, we have nice sports teams and more stop SPREADING HATE

Don't know what I was negative about. Thought I was pretty positive showing the good side of Portland.

Title: Portland, Oregon - City of Natural Beauty Almost everything in frame is manmade, showing off bridges, roads, and some panning shots of the city with movie theaters, high-rise buildings, a train, an extravagant fountain, a dam (which was lumped in with examples of natural beauty, along with a waterfall and a coastline), a cruise ship...
