I spoke to some Oregon convention Center workers and they said that there was actually a pipe burst in the heating system and that is what triggered the fire alarm. So it wasn't a prank, it wasn't arson but it was super annoying

The Fire Alarm wasn't pulled and it wasn't a prank - there was a small kitchen fire in one of the buildings.

@@GamerAhmer Yeah, you absolutely should make it out there at least once. I finally made it out there myself this year and it beats anything we have on our side of the country. The vendor floor is a little larger than TMG and the array of interesting panels meant that I barely got to visit the show floor on Saturday. (Though I was not prepared for the vendor floor closing so early on Saturday.) Plus, you can't go wrong with The Last Blockbuster being represented. Also, it was revealed at the show that the Nintendo Playstation (now officially the Playstation Zero following a complaint from Nintendo) is back on tour.

I hope to see you next year! From what I heard it was a legit fire that was in one of the kitchens. Also been going to PRGE for the last 11 years and first time the fire alarm went off. The expo was so good this year dispute the fire evacuation.

Haha - the fire alarm was annoying but not a prank. It was caused by one of the vendor kitchens that accidently set off the fire alarm. Whoops! That post-fire announcement was the most annoying! Hope you had a great visit. You actually caught me for a few frames in your video. :D

So I am a retro gamer KZbinr from Washington who now lives in Portland. Actually the Oregon Trail ended at around Fort Vancouver which was right across the Columbia River from PDX airport. So I know you're making an Oregon trail computer game joke, but historically speaking you're like right there at the end of the Oregon Trail.

Always great to see a bit of PRGE. We'd love to visit it (never happening) but it always seems like such a great setup. Plus, soooo many people we'd finally get to meet there! I guarantee that Lady Laci would leave with something from the Blockbuster section. It was us...we remotely pulled the alarm out of jealousy of NOT being there. lol Love the VHS D20! Great 3DS picks. And that Oregon Trail shirt is fantastic.

Great footage and upload! Looks like a great experience to have. The music loop got to be a bit too repetitive, not complaining but maybe something to keep in mind for long stretches without narration. There are a couple of retro cons in New York. I have seen a few buddies go to those cons and had fun.

Depending on which part of New York you're in, you've got Gamecon up in Syracuse, Long Island Retro Expo in the aviation museum in Long Island, Too Many Games down in Philly, or Retro World Expo over in Hartford. Of the four I would say that Retro World is the most like Portland but on 1/2 scale, but all those shows offer unique experiences.

Yes, there were PCs from every era at the con. Some were in rooms on the side, near the panels.
