PDX did Clingan no favor by having terrible Point guards on this team. Clingan is wide open in the Sweet spot about 5 feet away from the rim all game and nobody passes him the Ball. Clingan offense would look much better with Scoot getting him the ball so he can score around the rim.

Exactly. These guards cannot drop a pocket pass or lop. So many missed opportunities.

Man those PG's were awful pickups for Clingan test run. Really wish Scoot played. I really like what I am seeing from the big fella. He will be fun to watch for a longtime. Need some work on the Free Throws. Airballs aint going to work for me. lol

He’s going to eat with Scoot. DA’s season was so great last year mostly because of Scoot’s drive & kick game

When there kept being rumors of Clingan wanting to shoot 3s, i had nightmare flashbacks to Meyers Leonard, who was allergic to the paint. After these few games I'm glad to see the big man knows how to play as a big man.

I think Clingans offense will look better once the regular season starts and he has guards on his team that know how to pass into the paint.

Do the Blazers have a big man coach??? This guy could be a beast if someone could show him how to head fake, pump and then go up. He also needs to develop a hook shot. Who gets the other 3 way, it should be either Chandler or Cui. They can't take both but they do need a backup to Scoot

Ayton for now, The good news is Clingan has already been coached out of Ayton's issues. However Ayton's offensive game will help Donovan grow. But we should look into it. What is Sabas upto?
@ccthree3293 ай бұрын
It could be worse for guard play for Clingan, Just be thankful he aint playin with Bronny. Summer league for guards is the look at me, me me league. Keep playing D Donovan and keep hustling. Develop that motor. Like the way he seems to know his place which will pay off when he is with the real team. Let Ayton help you work on your jumper this offseason.

Was the team Clingan played for last year better than the team he will start the regular season with this year (coaching staff included)?
@ericoslund29373 ай бұрын
What "shooting issues" are you referring to? He is gonna be just fine from the 3 point arc. If he's left alone and nobody bothers, he's gonna make 'em pay at a 40% clip. It will drop as they start to put more pressure on him. But he's gonna be just fine. Watch his stroke. He's gonna be fine. Mark it down.

McGowens has 11 made 3-pointers in Vegas and the CA Classic this summer. To say he "can't shoot" is just lazy. His 3pt% is only around 32%, but most of his takes are off the dribble because he is asked to create offense. His catch-and-shoot percentage is much higher. He shows shooting potential and you are acting too dismissive of him. Now Kris Murray - that is a guy who "can't shoot."
@LockedOnBlazers3 ай бұрын
Hmm he’s 8-32 across 6 summer contests from what I’m seeing. Thats 25%. To date, as a professional, he has not shot it well.
@marcs39853 ай бұрын
@@LockedOnBlazers You are correct, I misread his free throws in a box score from the CA Classic and thought it was 3-pointers. 25% needs to improve. I still like his talent as a 2-way player much more than the players we have had occupying those spots the past few years. 6-7' with good handles, athleticism, strong finisher, and (maybe) shooting warrants a longer look.
