Portmore stop order fiasco as HAJ construction unapproved

The Portmore Municipal Corporation has placed a stop order on the construction of houses at the Sandown Palms development weeks after a groundbreaking ceremony featuring Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
Portmore Mayor Leon Thomas said the developers of the project, Housing Agency of Jamaica Limited (HAJ), started construction of housing units without submitting building plans to the municipal corporation for approval.

I agree with you sir. I’ve bee say this for years. Residential developments should occur on lands not suitable for agriculture. Jamaica doesn’t have enough flat fertile farmland, therefore houses Shouldn’t be built in what little we have. Build on the rocky areas.

HAJ sent plans to Daytona residents as if it's a done deal, knowing well they weren't approved to build. I always say there are too many government agencies, and they're lawless just like the ordinary criminals.

@@nardoranks5420 there’s nothing wrong with development, it’s how you plan to develop. There’s an abundance of land within the proximity of those developments that can be used instead of the fertile farm lands.
