I think they can be targeted, but generally they are triggered by what is written, not the user per-se, but applicable to all users across the board. I'm pretty sure I see bots here on youtube at times, but hard to tell.

They are real people they’re just paid like at a call centre to argue for any particular narrative whether it’s for russia (or another country, our own countries etc) all trying to control the narrative. For example I say “pheasants are birds” the “bots” are paid to say “pheasants are not birds you racist” then someone else comes along who also believes pheasants are birds but they’re too scared to say it because they don’t want to be told off by the “majority” (aka the 200 bots calling me a racist and an idiot lmao). Then the NEXT PERSON comes along and LEARNS info based on what they’re reading and forms their entire opinion “hmm pheasants must not be birds I guess” they say to themselves. And that’s the way the cookie crumbles lmao

it's possible, remember, it's the way the content is shaped, you really cannot tell by the "user" name or anything else. I look for a sort of robotic, almost "too right" kind of response that lacks any nuance, contradiction, or feeling ... it's not a perfect way, but most people have "tells" to their writing that scream "I'm a real individual" - bots do not, although they are learning all the time.

It wouldn't be hard to severely prohibit a bots capability. #1 Have a verification process that proves you are a real person that allows unlimited posting, but isn't mandatory to have an account #2 unverified profiles are limited to the amount of comments, re post, or likes per day. #3 remove accounts that are not used within 1 year.
