Porto Covo - Alentejo - Portugal HD

Porto Covo remains the pleasant village of fishermen, small white houses, which was recovered by the Marquis of Pombal after the 1755 earthquake.
The visit is well worth the beautiful craggy and hidden beaches that lie along the coast. During the summer many visitors occur to this area to regain strength, finding the calm and tranquility lost in time.
At about 250 meters off the coast of Porto Covo, may be seen abandoned Peach Island, the inspiration for the most poetical. There met traces of Carthaginian occupation during the century. B.C. and Roman occupation, including fish salting tanks, but the tradition and imagination tell us a haven for pirates for centuries.
At present, they can be seen the ruins of a fort built in the century. XVII that, along with a twin fortress in Porto Covo, defended this part of the coast. The bravest can try to go to the island, but be careful, because there are no organized visits.

Years ago I got out of the Lisbon airport, 7:30 in the morning, and little head South with my wife, that she didn't know nothing about her own country. We stopped at pasteis de Belém for breakfast, after that was a trip all the way of Sagres Point. 7 days, Sesimbra, Portinho data Arrábida, Setubal, Troia, Sines, Porto Covo, ilha do Pessegueiro, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Sagres. To us was the best trip, the beaches, the food, the people, it's in our hearts for ever the experience of a life time in a small country with so much to offer,💙🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

De most beautiful coastline is from Sines to Porto Covo! Lovely beaches, nice clean water, beautiful nature. The little town is always nice to visit, to walk, to eat the delicious fresh food... Porto Covo, you simply have to visit this and see for yourself.

What is the sea temperature in Portugal in general? Can you compare it with Greece or Italy for example?

Hi! Right now 17 Mar 2018 at 08:45 the sea temp in the mainland is about 15°, same as the air temp ☺. Can't tell you about Greece or Italy because they have a very long coast line and many islands 😉. You can check the forecast for the mainland and islands yourself at meteo.pt, cheers!

A nossa Costa e' muito agradavel e bonita... Cuidado com a venda de terrenos a gente estrangeira para formar os tais " compounds" ou seja propriedade " privada ".... Facam pesquisa sobre a venda de ilha em ilhas virgens nas Bahamas Comprada pelos pedophiles Jeffrey Epstein's e a namorada dele Gihesele Maxwell. No principio era tudo muito " bonito...tudo muito " privado" etc etc. Resultado?? Um lugar onde se abusava de criancas e jovens semi abandonadas pelas familias.... Este escandalo inclui muitos nomes dos tais " ricos famosos e filamtropos " como o Bill Gates... Nao venham para Portugal fazer as " vossas porcarias " Somo um Pais de Paz...e gente de Paz... Melides esta' a ser vendido a pessoal estrangeiro Porque?? E para que fins ?? Esta' okay virem de ferias todo o verao... depois disso voltem ha vossa terra e facam la os tais developments...e ajudem a sair da rua os MILHARES de americanos que vivem na rua.
