Hey Yupari! I'm very excited about your videos! No fancy hype or misplaced music. All the way to the craft - the painting! I write from Denmark and really think you are doing a dam good job and that you are an extremely talented artist. I love the way you build up the painting and how exactly you can illustrate a face with very few lines. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. I'm a big fan!!

I much prefer your idea of monochromatic underpainting than the pre mixing 10 color shades before starting on an underpainting. I will try this gladly.

I think this was one of your most compelling pieces yet; you managed to combine both of the alla prima & glazing techniques perfectly. You’re one of the best on YT. Love it!!

Oh, my! I took notes! Again! :) I loved everything about this classical approach which greatly attracts me! The various cool or warm colors and where and why they were placed is still a bit mysterious to me. I did discover one particular area (shadows) that are created by using the complementary color. And, using cool and warm colors depends on light source and such. Appreciate your mentioning the balance between heart and mind and not have either one overpower what you paint. Your time is precious and you give large portions of it to us. Thank you, Yupari. This painting is a beauty! :)

this is one of the best videos on portrait that i watched. i like that instructor is talking like a normal person and not doing any hyper, over the top stuff. Quick question though - in this video, till what point do you use oderless mineral to dilute the paint and from which point do you start using galkyd medium? it might help if you show when you dip your brush into the medium or oderless spirit. thank you for sharing your knowledge with us for free. it is very commendable effort.

There is no description box below on iPad or iPhone, and I guess all tablets and mobile devices. Inserted text boxes or information pages that we can freeze frame, screen save or copy would solve this problem in future videos. An excellent demonstration thank you.

Anche se è molto fedele il ritratto ma l’espressione degli occhi è diversa anche l’incarnato è diverso è più ocra olivastro, anche il dettaglio del naso è più raffinato alla punta dovrebbe essere.

Your glazing is not what I have learned, nor is it the same from what I have read, but is as effective with much less anxiety. The only thing, probably a individual thing, I wish you had added some of the golden glow found in her face.
