Before, I wasn't very interested in digital painting.. I'm more of the lineart + celshade person. But then after I found you and your works I was very inspired to make more digital paintings and I just wanted to say thank you bcs your videos really gave me a huge boost to start getting out of my comfort zone :)

I am so happy I found your channel. I love your videos because you take the time to explain things, and although I am not an artist, I enjoy watching art tutorial videos. Who knows, perhaps one day I will find the courage to try painting one of the awesome images I have in my mind. It would be great if you would make a video about more technical stuff, like where you find resources you use (brushes or references).

I don't often write comments but your work is so amazing I wanted to let you know that your sensitivity towards art is really gorgeous and fascinating! I can't get my eyes off of your work! I hope that with a lot of work I can be as good as you are now one day ^^ ! Keep going ♥

Couple weeks ago, I did 2 drawings. The first - the usual way id do them. Next day i found one of your videos and thought "hey that looks good ill try pinch some techniques". The genuine difference in quality looks like over a year between the two. When i showed some family, they assumed somebody else drew the worse one and said "Yeah thats a bit shit, your one is better". It was a redesign of the same character and looked like two seperate artists had done it. I just wanted to say thankyou as watching a couple speed paint videos of yours have genuinely helped me a lot.

hohoho, definitely my new teacher for digital painting. i'm still struggling with color especially in a certain ambience color. i usually so afraid whenever i want to draw in a certain scene that demand certain lighting. but i guess the best way to overcome that would be practicing with reference, mismatching color and so on. i'll try to absorb as much as possible from your painting, i really like your style

By default in Photoshop you can change brush size by holding alt and right click, and zoom with alt+space+left mouse button, much faster than swapping between the tools for zooming and manual brush resize

Hi Astri, love the video and art! When you say 8:56 " I made some layers on hard light mode and clipped them back to the main group" Can you please elaborate?
@Astri_Lohne6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Basically, to quickly make a lighting setup, I use layers on hard light and sometimes overlay mode. By holding ALT and clicking the line underneath the lighting layer, I *clip* them back to the layer/group I want to light. This is so the new layer will be locked to my main ones, and the lighting will stick to only those layers. Once I'm happy with the way the lighting layer looks, I merge it all together into one layer. Hope that explained things for you!

I dont mean to sound as if I know any better, but the neck and shoulders really bug me anatomy wise, I bet you might have noticed it too or will notice if you take the color off, if possible and flip the image upside down to see that the neck seems too long as well as the shoulders that seem kinda too close to each other I'd say. I was drawing for years, probably since I was in my moms womb but I never made it a task for my self to master it, nor did I ever had good results when I draw digitally because of the view or the fact it feels very different from pen and pencil as well as the add fact I never used colors, maybe one color and made hues with it by pressuring the pen or pencil unto the sheet I was drawing on. I still have little understanding on how people get used to drawing on a wacom or other variations of it despite trying my self and never getting the hang of it, also how people are able to use colors and make their final piece look so naturally good. the final piece is still good, tho I dont have a plan or steps when I draw on my wacom, I usually do the first sketch than the second which is usually line art at that point and call it a day.

can anyone please help me? i have a problem that i dont add enough details or my details look like they are in sketch phase. i just dont enjoy doing it but i love the look of such paintings (like this artist has) are there any tips how to add details faster/ enjoy it or should i just push myself to do it? thanks in advance ^^
@Daniel-qi3qv6 жыл бұрын
You should not concern yourself too much with speed, that comes with time. If you are frustrated about adding more details to a drawing just put it aside and come back to it in 2 to 3 days of not even looking at it. In the meantime start another drawing. You will see once you get back in the first one with fresh eyes you will be more motivated to push it further. Hope I helped and let me know if theres something else I can help with cheers from a fellow artist :D

can you do a tutorial on drawing "hot" woman/girls because you know its lucky when a beginner does a portrait with a woman/girl which turns out beautiful because most of the time it turns out ugly and unattractive which really repels and discourages the interest of beginners in digital art.
