This lesson was originally created by Alaskan educator Erica Ross, and shared through the Alaska Arts Education Consortium. Using scissors and a pencil, cut apart a black and photo photo portrait based on the grey value scale. Build up the puzzle pieces of your final drawn portrait, as you cut apart the printed version! This demo was recorded in class, working working with high school students (and while I was using a microphone).
Materials you will need:
A black and white headshot printed on two different sheets of paper (one regular printer paper and one on a heavier card stock or drawing paper)
a piece of clean drawing paper, same size as the portrait
pencil
scissors
colored pencils
Follow along and enjoy the incredible results!
