I have lived in Portsmouth all my life of 42 years and it has rapidly gone down hill over the last 10 years. It breaks my heart. In the 70s and 80s there were so many shops and things to do and it was a much cleaner place. Now it's just a dump full of chavs. I really can't wait to move away.

Portsmouth and Southsea used to be such a vibrant place, used to be lots of young people milling around the nightclubs and had a great vibe. Shame it’s all gone

three things killed the town The University (housing) the Council (budget and planning) and the internet (shopping)

I would not agree, Southsea and old Portsmouth were great in the 70’s 80’s the atmosphere was a lot better and so much more to do. The people were friendly also
