Whether he is starting every match or not, what is important for Portugal and their chances is that Ronaldo (and whoever else) all put their egos to one side for several weeks and come together as one for their nation. Nations such as Croatia, Serbia etc…the lesser teams like Georgia and Albania…even my own Country, Scotland play for the badge, their nation, their people, 100% passion and commitment fighting together for the cause… We have seen down the years, mega talented squads who have underachieved at tournaments due to clashes of ego, infighting…just general friction and disharmony…. Netherlands come to mind on more than one occasion, Spain fairly recently, France in 2002 is another…
