Exactly...who cares about the ranking in a poll. Do your research and go where you want if the place makes you happy and it's a good fit for you. Living a bit below your means goes a long way to make up for paying a higher tax.

Hi. A bit off topic but I'm curious about letter grades for efficiency on the idealista ads. Does this refer to possible costs of heating/cooling/insulation? Does it affect the taxes on the property? Thank you

@@johnperrin914 it does not impact taxes, and the question about cost is “sort of.” Meaning, if you have a rating or A, there is an assumption of insulation, heat/ac, which would cost less to heat or cool than say a D rating. But, age of building, age of heat/ac units, the quality of the machines, how cool or hot you want your property all play a part. We had the lowest rating, as it is an old building with no ac/heat. We installed Ac/heat and it moved up the rating to a C, no extra taxes. We would much rather pay more for heat and ac, than live in Portugal without it.
