Georgia have been at the top of European teams outside the 6 Nations. They deserve a go in the 6 or 7 Nations. The consistant quality of the team and passion of the fans deserves it. The game must be allowed to be spread amongst more countries. Not just for money for big 8 or 9 teams. Give them a sporting chance! from an Irishman

Well said and oh so true. And congratulations to Ireland for knocking us over at home. Well deserved and and a long time in the making. It is what world rugby needs.

I'd like to see something similar to the continental cups that happen between the soccer world cups come into the rugby schedule. A northern and southern hemisphere cup with qualifiers for the smaller nations. That would give them, and the sport, far more opportunity to grow. It would take away from the 6 Nations and Rugby Champoinship, but those could be still continue in a shortened format, as they often do in a world cup year. This gives even more of the smaller rugby nations exposure and something to work towards. And more professional exposure for teams just out of the top ten, like Georgia and many of the Island Nations. There will be a lot of politics and contracts etc to sort out, but I do feel the status quo is in need of a shake up...SA moving our franchise rugby to Europe may lead to some fresh thinking. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Portugal and Georgia should be in a 8 nations, they have regularly been pushed lower tier 1 teams like Japan and Italy, if given more games against tier 1 opposition, these lot could start to become a force, would also be better for Italy as well as they are guaranteed competitive games and it would boost their morale if they win. Think it would overall lead to a stronger NH

I’ve been a fan of Georgia for a while now. But they are looking really good. Wish they would get a shot at the 6 nations. I believe they can beat Italy. Some of their players probably even deserve spots on URC teams which would make them even better in my opinion. Rugby should be more like soccer. Clubs should be willing to look for talent form each nation, not just the “big rugby” nations.

They've had good games and wins but actually in the past in Georgia they've won a lot more convincingly vs likes of Portugal and Spain. Again Spain earlier this year was competitive away in Georgia. The others are showing more steel and the Georgians are not walking over them so easily even at home. Georgia have really dominated the second division in Europe for more than a decade as Romania has fallen away a bit. But that dominance might just be starting to be increasingly challenged. Finally some others like Portugal and Spain look like they are catching up.
@michaeljg672 жыл бұрын
There's a lot of justified hype about Georgia but Portugal look well organised and very competitive. European rugby is in good shape and surely the Six Nations should have two divisions with promotion and relegation.
@eamonlyons83182 жыл бұрын
No, i agree May be two more teams should join but no relegation
@michaeljg672 жыл бұрын
@@eamonlyons8318 that might be the way to go. If one of the home nations or France has a bad year it would damage the game for them to be relegated. How do you choose between Portugal, Spain and Romania for 8th spot though? And how do you allow other nations to move up without aspiration?
@kurtpunchesthings24112 жыл бұрын
It's never gonna happen why ? Oh thats easy the six nations are a private tournament where literally all 6 of the countries would have to agree to allow either more countries in or a relegation system hence to say Italy will not be keen on the relegation part see if anything it's more likely italy get booted out of the six nations then any new countries what should happen is a B Tier tournament involving Russia Georgia Romania Spain Portugal Belgium I just went off the 7-12 best countries based on the World rankings

We're seeing the growth of bigger crowds in a lot of the T2 nations games this year. Georgia has always got big crowds against main rivals and some of the better teams to visit but got a good crowd v Portugal too.
