im portuguese and this IISSS good trust me - also add small potato chunks roast them and sprinkle a lil paprika on them as well before they go in the oven and a light sprinkle when they come out

From the comments there is some discussion about the authenticity of this recipe, and authenticity is a very nuanced subject. Cuisine itself is hardly 200 years old, outside of the Royal tables and the like, everywhere. So, authenticity doesn't count for much, if anything. For the better part I believe that folks are defending their culture and acting like good nationalists but don't understand that, like language, cooking is an integral component of culture and is constantly in flux. I don't make fried chicken like my mother did (thank goodness) and for all that, it's no less authentic because there is no standard for authenticating. QED.

I am sorry to say that is not a Portuguese chicken, in no way we use whisky in the recipe, maybe white vine and olive oil, and the quantities of spices way to much, butt, paprika garlic, and pepper and salt are basic. You can substitute alcohol with just lots of lemon juice. It can be done at a barbecue, never in a woven.
