Daniel mentioned that there is no need to hold residency in Portugal while applying for citizenship. Don’t applicants have to prove that they have a “connection” to Portugal? Is it sufficient for a Golden Visa holder to continue owning a property without renewing one’s residency after 5 years while applying for citizenship? Thank you for a clarification.

Hi, can u/anyone please tell me how to check my Portuguese passport application process?? I checked online but there they asking a 12 digit process number but what my agent gave me (process number) looks like n’12345/2019 …. How to go about it??

Thank you 1st of all . I was wondering why the usa consulate is asking for my parents marriage certificate apostillado. My parents have been divorced for over 5 decades, both are portuguese born, both have portuguese passports ( both went small to Venezuela and got married and divorced there) . I just don't understand the logic.. I could have been a child out of wedlock. Also, why am I told that they aren't even doing it . Something like they aren't processing the citizenships. This is crazy .. they said this before covid and something about no one in my family had started something and it was going to take me 2.5 years! .after covid they stopped everything, now my father in Venezuela * very old at this point and eventhough he doesn't want to leave at this point ) he got his "Cartaon". my mother here in usa has alzheimers. And they still want this marriage certificate "apostillado" ? And still telling me it may not even get done any time soon? Thank you

U r wrong we can enjoy listening FADOS without holding Portuguese passport. As long as we UNDERSTAND Portuguese . We can speak Portuguese. Also too many documents asked to obtain Portuguese passport. For example parents r dead n in Goa. Most of the BIRTH REGISTERATION CERTIFICATES PAPERS R MISSNG FROM THE SUB REGISTRAR OFFICE. Where to get it from?

My wife and I are naturalized U.S. citizens; do we need to show a Birth Certificates from the birth Countries or just the naturalization U. S. Certificate to obtain Portuguese residency or Citizenship, thereafter?
