This is so great. I just wish they would put back the original ending where you are transported back into the previous chamber. That illusion was so magical and made the attraction special. Either way, I'm thrilled it's back!

We were at Universal about a year ago and this experience was closed. I am looking forward to seeing it in person. Something Universal might want to keep in mind is that the show presentation does not have to equate to a current movie or even a past movie. Sometimes we just want to be amazed with something like this. People love the set design, the story and the special effects. More shows such as this, Waterworld and the Indiana Jones Stunt spectacular (yes I know its Disney) are what people love so I would say more of this type of show not necessarily more rides. Not everyone can ride all the rides. And by the way, the Magic of Disney is fading, but the Wonder of Universal is rising. Keep it Up!

It’s only “fading” to hardcore theme park fans, the general public will always continue to stay interested in going to Disney Parks before any other option.

I'd love to see Disney create a multi-stage theme park attraction like this for their Atlantis film, with Milo Thatch leading guests into the submarine, then everyone gathering on the bridge as it dives (motion base with huge curved IMAX projection screen outside the windows) and is attacked by the Leviathon. Then, Milo leads everyone to board sub-pods as the battle continues, with the sub-pods acting as motion simulators. Then, when the submarine is destroyed, the guests disembark the sub-pods in a cavern, where they ride vehicles further into the cave system, where they encounter obstacles and creatures before eventually stumbling into Atlantis itself, which is actually an indoor theme park land with dining, entertainment, and both a small boat ride and a roller coaster than simulates the climactic battle between the winged gliders and the flying stone fish.

Great to see it back! I remember the old show when it was a old man instead of the explorer guy. And the story was with posiedon and zeus battling it out. Either way the show is great!

I really liked the video; thanks for sharing. I remember the original grand opening in '99. I was blown away. Once. I've taken a few "first timers" to Poseidon's Fury, especially for the air conditioning. But with all of the standing, I'd rather sit at "The Watering Hole" than stand through Poseidon's Fury. I'm sure the refresh is great, but I'm not too interested. I had higher hopes with newer technology. At least they saved the water vortex tunnel. That feature can be worth the wait if you're able to stand for a long time.

I’m so happy they reopened Poseidon’s Fury I’m finally and officially going back to Universal and Disney in two months for Memorial Day weekend. I haven’t been to Poseidon’s Fury since 2008 and 2013 when I first experienced the show I was so amazed by the theming and storyline. Plus I’m a huge fan of Greek Mythology the painting of the exterior of the temple looks so bright. Poseidon’s Fury or the Lost Continent will not be leaving anytime soon I hope they do something with the Sinbad stage maybe another stunt show 😊🧜🔱

Poseidon wasn’t just the ruler of the seas he ruled over the whole Earth, his name literally means Lord Of The Earth, you see he founded Atlantis but Atlantis wasn’t just one city it was also the name of an empire founded by Poseidon himself that spanned over the Earth, that’s why he also has earth powers in the myths, you see Zeus’s name comes from an earlier name that translates basically to Sky Father and Hades means The Unseen like how the “underworld” is mostly unseen and hidden below the earth, so you have Zeus who was ruler over the sky, Poseidon who was ruler over the earth including the seas and Hades who ruled over the “underworld”.

I've complained bitterly about this on other channels, so I won't go into a long-winded diatribe again, but I really wish Gary Goddard had kept the "fidelity" of the Greek mythos and didn't trade-out Zeus for the comic-booky "Lord Darkenon". It just cheapens everything, particularly when you consider that Jeremy Irons played Poseidon. That said, I am glad the attraction is back up and running and that the water tunnel appears to be working again. I THINK I spotted a few differences here and there, but nothing Earth-shattering. Hopefully, it won't close again for "reasons".

I went back to the park today and it was closed. I've been to Islands of Adventure around 30 times in the past few years and have not even once gotten to see Poseidon's Fury. It has literally been closed every single time. It may not even be anything special, I have no idea. I've just always wanted to see what the heck it is.

I was hoping they were going to put the order of the show back to the way it was when it first opened. The flying wall was much more unexpected when it came down at the end as opposed to going up in the beginning.

When we went through this in early February of this year, all the outside water features were turned off. :/ But it's still my favorite attraction in the park. :) I hope they never remove it!

I think this is a better show that Disney's Galactic Starcruiser! The show is terrific, and the guy playing the guide is a far, far better actor than any of the ones in the Starcruiser. I don't know if the audio is a recording or live, but the actor engages the audience in a humorous and friendly manner that seems kind of natural and fits the show perfectly. The show is fun and entertaining. The themeing here is wonderful and the show is great.

This attraction is doomed. There is nothing really new about it. They keep the same story line and the same actors on the old video that you can barely see. It would been better to see a new fresh modern actors story line with new technology. Projectors nowadays have better resolution in 2D and 3D. This is old school and boring. I wished the remake something new behind the amazing story front. This attraction is outdated compared to other attractions in the park. 🤪😬🤦
