Posh Frocks & New Trousers - Fashion Competition

In the late 1980's I entered a competition on ITV's 'Posh Frocks and New Trousers' programme. It was to design an outfit for Sarah Greene to wear to the British Fashion Awards. As my entry was very tongue-in-cheek I was amazed when it was featured on the programme.

Thanks John! It was very much a "tongue-in-cheek" entry. I never imagined it would get any air-time… but secretly I was thrilled when it did.

The theme sounds like a slow version of Finders Keepers.... which was also TVS made...

I can safely say that Christian Dior and the rest of the fashion industry are safe!! I decided to do graphics instead. However, like Tony Blackburn wearing a Katherine Hamnett gold lamé - that you reference in the extract - I did turn out to be [gawr-juhs].
