@jamesdavis70172 жыл бұрын
Same here. And although I don’t know much about the auto industry or commercial real estate, the fact that I also didn’t know about these two gentlemen is disturbing. We need to stop talking about sports and entertainment and focus more on how our business class folks have found a way to make it. There are probably significant themes that could be discovered by our community.

Don't feel bad I have followed Ron Peebles for over decade an I recently found out about Mr Moorehead and heard speak, the one thing I can say Ron Peebles he does not like to be associated with the image that black athletes and entertainers known for. Because of that fact he never places himself in the same space to be mentioned with other black multimillionaires that the media glorifies

Instead of making a fictitious depiction of empire building with Empire or Power why don’t 50 or Lee Daniels make a drama about these people featuring the zeitgeist and interplay of these people and their rise to power. This would be a compelling story and so much more powerful because it is based on facts and undergirds true power and it’s consolidation in today’s society.
@f.iyanda38382 жыл бұрын
Highly agreed, but unfortunately Ann’s said to know that if they were to do that, it would go against the American way which is entertainment. Which would lead to 50 and Lee not profiting. I’m sure Lee and 50 would love to, Americans want to see drug dealers/ kingpins turned legit like a Jay z or Curtis Jackson because it’s a better sell.🥲😠
@nanettematthews2264 Жыл бұрын
@@f.iyanda3838 it's a better sell because it perpetuates what they'd rather see young African Americans devoting their lives to. Crime and its pathologies, single parent homes and disorganized communities are necessary in ensuring a thriving prison industrial complex. Mass incarceration can only be ensured and continued by a continuous supply of young men and women as raw material. 'Power' the series gives young people the misguided impression that this sort of activity produces true power... when you and I know it does not.

I love the positve comptetiveness of this concersation between these two black business titians. Don got the best of Moorehead in this one. It takes a keen eye to see notice the verbal boxing macth that took place here. Morehead knew he was loosing, so he pulled a good move by trying to alpha Don, by mentioning Robert Smith as the richest Black person, in an attempt to deminish Don's vaule, Don battled right back by stating "I had to educate as to who Robert even is and made it possible for him to recieve a prestigues reward. Another battle was, when Moorehead mention about the gap funding program he and his wife does as charity, Don replied we me and my wife build schools in each city we do business in, lol. The look on Moorehead face as Don swings back each time is priceless. All postivity!!! Don was alpha in this one...
