Hi! That’s a good question. Malaki ang pagkakaiba ng science and religion as science do base more on reasoning and things that can be observed pero ang religion is more on things na hindi nakikita and more of faith. Sa laki ng influence ng religions around the globe, although it doesn’t directly hinder science itself, may mga pagkakataon na nagiging cause ito ng mga debate dahil very much unlikely ang principles nila. Even in early times, nagagamit ang siyensya o mga experimento dahil sa mga paniniwala religiously. Watch this part carefully 19:33 to further understand. Good luck!!

"Without religion, good people will do good things, while evil people will do evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." Also I disagree that religion, especially abrahamic religions are a source of proper moral values. I am an atheist and have ZERO urges to murder and rape. On the contrary, the bible is riddled full of unethical behavior, such as incest, murder of non-virgins, etc.

Good point! I love how you interpret that it is not about the religion you are in, nor your beliefs, it is how we respect and understand our individual differences. It was also mentioned that not just Abrahamic Religions ‘promotes’ moral and ethical values. Even Confucianism, Hinduism and even Buddhism promotes these values. I also agree that bible itself had some contexts that are challenging to comprehend. It is undeniably true that there were some incestous relationships written specifically on the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve (Genesis) and even Abraham marrying Sarah, and those were written in Exodus. There was an argument that it was done prior to God commanding against it and it was ‘allowed’ by God to save humanity and since Adam and Eve were the first human on earth, their offspring don’t have a choice but to marry their close relatives. I also commend your knowledge in the bible passage about the punishment for women who cannot prove their virginity (Deuteronomy 22:13-21) You could take a look of different perspective on the passage such as: payment of virgin bride wealth, family’s honor, interpretation acc to their custom during that time etc. In today’s advancement of technology, it is indeed hard to prove woman’s virginity and hymeneal blood is unreliable proof. This is one of the negative sides of religions that impedes scientific success. I truly appreciate this comment! And thank you for watching. Happy holidays! ❣️
