hi all! I just wanted to reiterate that this is my story - i know a lot of people don't agree with elective inductions and won't agree with the way i chose to have our child, but thats fine! also, i know that my experience is not like everyone else's, but i still wanted to share so first time parents like myself are not terrified of going into the hospital! xo

She’s absolutely GORGEOUS, Grace. 🥰 Congratulations to you and Jesse. 🎉 My daughter (only child) is now almost 17 yrs old, but I also had a very positive birth with her. Only 6 hours from start to finish too! Woohoo! 🤣I’m so happy that you had a positive experience. ❤️ Thank you for sharing with us. 🤗

Actually a big study showed that ppl who had elective inductions at 39 w for first time moms had better outcomes than those who waited and see. They also had lower chances of needing a c section. This study came out in 2016 and was a very reliable study. That's why so many drs are now allowing for ppl to get elective inductions at 39 weeks. I ended up needing a medical induction at 39w and it went really well. My next baby will be an elective induction. I also agree, lactation specialists at the hospital are the terrible and not helpful. My nipples were scabbed over. I finally got with a lactation specialist outside the hospital and it no longer hurt. More importantly, congrats on baby!

Congratulations!!!! She’s beautiful and you’re amazing for what you did. I really love how good you are about going with the flow with the decisions you need to make for birth. I feel like that would help coming across barriers like not being able to breastfeed for example if you were set on it. I definitely want to be like that when I get pregnant. Hope you’re feeling better and recovering ❤️

Cervical checks are not always painful for everyone i heard that its very painful whenever i asked someone they told me the same. I had one 3 days ago it wasn’t painful at all and i was shocked that it was done that quick it just felt uncomfortable. Maybe it didn’t hurt because my cervix was very soft🤷🏻♀️but i was just 1cm dilated at 38 weeks

39 weeks and I also want to end this uncomfortable pregnancy but my mother and mother in law and my husband are all against me and not supporting me and telling me to wait till I’m 41 weeks and then get an induction. The thought of waiting for 2 more weeks is putting me in so much stress. The reason thats stopping me from and elective induction is my fear that something might go wrong and will make me regret it.
@Lauraelizabethize4 күн бұрын
Inductions actually statistically help PREVENT or reduce your chances of having to have a c-section.

Is it true that the nausea goes away immediately?? Or does it just gradually get better in the days after birth?

mine lasted like 1 more day, but i'd assume from the painkillers via epidural!

You know what can I just say 😂 I was having some issues with lactation consultants as well, I felt like they were a bit too fanatical for my taste, not saying all are like that but at my hospital it was like that! I was doing both breast and bottle and between them and nurses grabbing and squeezing my sore boobs it was a bit much. I was already feeling overwhelmed with people coming into my room constantly because I already suffer from anxiety and was also suffering from chronic high blood pressure and severe preeclampsia, plus exhaustion from not sleeping (from being in labor overnight, nurses waking you up at all hours of the night, plus feeding the baby) at one point a lactation consultant came in just to talk and introduce herself at 11 at night while I was trying to sleep and although I was not rude to her and allowed her to talk, I was livid and extremely upset about that! My fiance and I are extremely exhausted, stressed and sleep deprived and here comes a very entitled lactation consultant very unnecessarily coming in at almost midnight waking people up. I can even understand if it’s someone to make sure my baby and I are alive but really? A lactation consultant coming into a sleep deprived, freshly postpartum woman’s room who’s been having severe health complications! I’m still mad about that almost like my personal space was being completely violated! I wrote a bit of a complaint but didn’t mention her name because I didn’t want the lady to get in trouble but I was saying like a word of advice, send lactation consultants in at a reasonable hour and not rudely as almost midnight to a women’s room that you KNOW needs the rest!

I know it’s debated which is best but there are those studies showing less risks in 39 week inductions. You did what you felt was best for you. I was induced at 39 weeks because my son had stopped growing and there was concerns about the placenta. I had a good and quick experience but I know that’s not the case for everyone either. Regardless she is here! 💕

They had you pushing for 2 hours?! Wow! That must’ve been draining. I was recommended by our first doctor, based on my medical history, to get induced. My second doctor said it was unnecessary and totally up to me. Reason why she recommended was so we can be in a somewhat controlled environment. I decided to go up to 40 weeks, but surprise! My baby decided to come at 39 weeks lol congratulations to you and Jesse. Take each day one day at a time.
