Dr. Miguel, you did a wonderful job highlighting the positive effects a good set of teeth can do to your self esteem and to our social values in this current generation. Great watch!

Due to neglect of my own to take care of family I let my dental health deteriorate. I went for a consultation and was given quotes of 12, 16, and 22, thousand dollars to fix my teeth. I decided to check out for myself what is available to me because of the enormous cost to fix them and given my age I cannot bring myself to invest this much money. I was told my only other alternative is dentures and pull all mine out which I find terrifying and I cannot bring myself to do it. I am so happy to hear that there are options out there I certainly hope there is someone here where I live that is up to date with this latest technology.

it takes 3 minutes to brush and floss everyday. You didn't have 3 spare minutes? Be honest with yourself and don't blame it on your family. You were lazy and it's your fault.

@@jluz1106 lol, easy to talk but tooth paste is actually an abrasive solution and flossing with wrong ( thin) wire can cut your gums. 2) genes. some people have that sweet tooth yet a better bone density all in all,so they dont get that affected 3)sudden demineralization from all kind of stuf for ex. giving birth, kidney/gallstones, poor nutrition etc

What happened, what did you decide to do? It's true that you can travel outside the US for significantly cheaper dentistry or even get dual citizenship where it's free. I know that for a lot of people, that just isn't possible for a varirty of reasons. Whatever you did, I wish you well and for the record: basic healthcare should not be a commodity in one of the wealthiest countries on Earth. Even if we won't benefit from it in our lifetimes I vote for progressive Democrats (and universal healthcare) and I hope you do too.

Than make dentistry cheap, ur costing thousands of dollers, and for teeth implant dont talk about it, everyone knows how much it cost. How would someone give u this amount of money when they dont really have? So that means, u have to be rich for having teeth.
@manishayersong2764 жыл бұрын
Dentistry can't be made cheaper by the Dentist himself, it's more dependent on the companies that make the product and the colleges that cost a huge amount for the studies. Anyway Dentistry is about taking care, consultation on time and knowing what's better for yourself. There are always alternatives according to economical Requirements. You just have to look for the people who can provide you with care and also who has the knowledge to do so.

This guy is talking more about what a smile can do and not given any proper solutions. We all want real teeth, not fake teeth. I have heard that there is stem cell research regarding growing our natural teeth back. Many times I have been to the dentist and my teeth have been damaged deliberately so that they can make profit by me having to go back again and pay. Dentistry is a business and with all businesses it is always about profit. This guy even admitted that there is no policing of dentistry.

Dentistry will soon be a profession of the past, like hairstylist and maid. With the rise of 3D printers, people will be able to create new sets of teeth from their own house on demand. No longer necessitating the middle man 'doctor' to it for them.

It’s not that easy. There are so many things you’re not taking account of. You can’t just print teeth and put them on like jewelry. They need to be well placed in order for the jaw to not shrink or stuff like that. Without talking about infections and all problems you may cause done by non professional people. Dentistry is not going to be a profession of the past, it’ll still be there for many years to come :)
