Hi! also here is what saved me, I suffered with sciatica for 3 years, and I had tried everything, ( i am 58 yrs old) it would literally take me 15 minutes to figure out how to get out of bed! it was so painful! ...So my daughter came home from college and i asked her to put the memory foam mattress she used at college on my bed and this is going to sound nuts but after just napping on it once i could tell i felt a little better! and then going forward each time i slept on it, it got easier to get out of bed and after 2 weeks my sciatica was basically gone! I have not been back to the Dr. to get any more cortisone shots since! And I am not selling a product because as you can see, i have not named the product other than that it was memory foam. So sometimes it can be as dumb as changing a little something in your life like this pad! also i had a meniscus problem in my knee because i had been compensating with my knees to bend to pick things up. ....On another day i was telling a friend about my past back problems and how the pad fixed me and she asked if i wear flip flops, and i said yes! i live in them in the summer! and a light bulb went off in my head because it suddenly occured to me that every time i started wearing flip flops my back would start to feel bad, ....so then....because our phones are listening, i get and add for these flip flops with and arch support which of course i then ordered!... and this is equally nuts but i had a bump by my knee almost the size of a half walnut, and this is no joke, after 24 hours the pain was gone and 72 hours the bump was gone! And my son said to me, mom if i did not see that with my own eyes i would not believe you! But the bump was there for 3 months and he saw it go away in 3 days! and i had been seeing a doctor for it and nothing was working! ...except those flip flops! so try simple changes like these too!!! It made all the difference for me!

@@meganl.5650 The most common SI problem is restricted movement. The shock absorber effect is lost causing excess load on hip and low back. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this priceless information. I have been suffering for the past 2 years with horrible lower back pain which radiates into my glutes and down my leg. My back went out a few months ago and I was incapacitated. My legs wouldn't work and the pain was horrific. I could not afford a trochanteric belt so I grabbed a large scarf from my closet and tied it snug around my hips where you said the belt should be placed. I've been wearing it daily for about 4 days and now the pain in my glutes, legs, and lower back is almost non-existent. I was beginning to get so depressed from the chronic pain everyday. Thank you so much for your help. I hope you are blessed beyond measure for it. ❤️

Bravo! Btw, my SI joint problems started with hopping on one leg after osteomyelitis surgery (I was too lazy to use crutches). Avoid asymmetrical movements, especially bending on one leg, lifting weights on one leg etc. peace ✌️

Thank you so much for sharing this info. For over a month I could barely walk due to severe SI joint pain, and nothing I tried helped. I watched this through, and bought the belt thinking it all sounded too good to be true, but it really worked. I was back up and walking normally in just over 2 weeks! I came away from this understanding why the injury happened, how to help it heal, and how to avoid it happening again. I've only been on my feet for 11 months, after 3.5 years in a wheelchair, so having the SI joint injury threaten my mobility for such an extended time was incredibly hard on me. I can't possibly thank you enough for the help. In gratitude!

EXCELLENT explanation and solutions! It's pretty incredible the shear force at the SI joint. When I was a young kid, whenever I sat cross-legged, I'd feel a "thump" at my bottom but never had any pain. The first time I had pain was when I was pregnant, and in standing, I sneezed. The most incredible pain, couldn't sit/stand, going from sitting to standing and vice versa was excrutiating. Did not know at the time anything about SI joint and my OBGYN didn't mention it as a possible cause. Fast forward years of self study (and eventually going to back to school to practice PT), I now understand what happened, and why. I learned that a big factor in SI joint dysfunction can be women's hormonal cycles which cause increased ligament laxity. This is necessary during pregnancy to allow for delivery through the pelvis, but it also happens to a lesser degree during regular menstrual cycles, and it affects all ligaments in the body. They've seen that women athletes can become more injured at certain points in their cycles for just this reason. I appreciate your approach and wanted to add a bit of info to the conversation.

Sorry, this is so long I didn’t know how else to explain what had happened in 50 years. This was the best video that could have come along. You did a wonderful job explaining SI so it was really easy to understand. I’ve never heard of this even though I’ve dealt w it since 7th grade. I turned 60 this year. Trauma at the park running around fell on the edge of the sidewalk, perfectly landed on my coccyx. Took months to sit properly and years to watch a movie in a theater all the way. Through the years I’ve had problems with lower back, neck, shoulders, sciatic pain, degenerative disease, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. In 10th grade woke up for school and could not move neck in severe pain. Had acupuncture back then in a very small town. Chiropractors at neighbor going to school saw due to neck and lower back SI. Since then it’s been chiropractors, doctors, MRI’s, CT’s, physical therapy over and over for many years. The pain is always there especially in lower region as you showed “SI”, tailbone, lower back, neck, shoulders and headaches. My right side is out now and very painful even without the touch. Painful to sit have tried many different devices. Looking for something new. I've been using heat and ice for years forgot about that tried every cream and pad on the market. Nothing helps. While your getting treated maybe some relief when they quit it starts all over. Rehabilitation worked and they tried electrical stimulation. After it quits working. If I brush my teeth, wash dishes, run errands, wash clothes, pick something up my SI flares up. Then my sciatic flares up. Had a few strokes so over the years this has not helped in the nerve area. The left side from hip down to me toes gives me problems. Stand to long or on feet to long then my back, legs and feet hurt worse than having three babies natural. I’m in severe pain all the time. I’m tired of it and if what your talking about will help this would be my miracle. So thank you. I forgot to write your name down my bad I’ll do that after this long post. Take care and many blessings!

Good video. So to be clear, there is a difference between the sacrum/pelvis being out of alignment vs. the si joints being stretched too much. Both present similiarly but they have different treatments. First you have to see if your pelvis is out of alignment, then stabilize it, and hold in place with the belt and stability exercises. However, if you have overstretched the ligaments, which can happen thru vigorous exercise, dance, not necessarily trauma, then the key is to rest, use ice, and use the serola belt. When the pain stops, then you can start the strengthening exercises. I love my serola belt and it helps bring more awareness to movement in that area. It has taken me years to figure all this out...hope it helps someone.

Everything you said is absolutely perfect about the pain I went thru for months. I had the x-rays and MRIs and ultrasounds and nobody could find out what it was. The girl that does my Fashah Massage said that she doesn’t believe it’s my sciatic, but it was my sacroiliac joint. She recommended I go to a chiropractor. I was terrified of going to a chiropractor, because I don’t like things that pop, especially on me. He introduced me to the drop table, and on the very first visit I was able to walk again without the pain. I’ve gone to him about five times so far in the last month, but each time I can go longer without having to go see him again. I’m on day seven and I feel terrific. I truly believe this is helping. And I can only pray that in time. I’ll be able to do strengthening exercises and won’t need to go to the chiropractor. just to be able to walk to the car without crying or be able to make my own bed or do laundry or do dishes is truly a blessing. I feel like there’s hope now. Thank you for this video. I am sharing it with several people and family members.

Two days of wearing the SI joint belt and I have for the first time experienced no pain standing or driving, better sleep, less muscle tension in back, hips and legs. You have described to a tee everything that I have been experiencing for the last 3 years while doctors kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me and chiropractor, massage, accupuncture provided temporary relief. Without going into the details of my entire 3 year saga, I just can't believe that no one ever mentioned this belt to me, though I always pointed to the exact spot between lower back and buttocks to every single health practitioner. So, thank you. I am quite sure that I have SI joint instability which now begs the question: 1) can I do stretching and strengthening exercises with the belt on, or should I even continue exercising while wearing the belt? Is it better to take a couple of weeks and let the belt alone hopefully allow for area to heal? 2) Which stretching exercises release tension in lower back, buttocks and hips, but do not worsen frayed or loose SI ligaments? 3) Which glute strengthening exercises do not irritate sciatic nerve causing more muscle tension and pain in area, creating a need for more stretching in what seems like an endless loop, while possibly worsening the SI instability? Much gratitude 🙏

@@talenthunt750 I am still figuring it out. There are a few theories in my case. One that the back pain while standing seems to be caused by back muscles tightening, taking over for weak core muscles, causing an exaggerated curve of lower back. Belt eases the pain so that back muscles don't need to work so hard to keep me standing. But seems like, at least in my case, no other way out but to strengthen glutes and core muscles. Must be correct exercises so that back doesn't tighten even more, i.e. only exercises that keep back fully touching the floor, not tightening back more. Also practicing tucking in the the tail bone while standing and engaging core muscles. Hope this helps you. If not, keep searching and listening to your body.

These injections are amazing. I broke my back during the Gulf War in 1991 but docs said it was muscle and gave me Motrin to take 800 mg four times daily as I could not stand up straight. No X-rays, etc. I lived with the pain sev more years on active duty and retired with over 20 years seven years later still in pain. After retiring, pain got worse. After many VA doctors and two civilian docs, one doc said I needed back surgery which was supposed to be easy and be over in three hours. When in surgery the Neurosurgeon found many things that didn’t show on bone scans, MRI’s and CT Scans. This was 15 years after initial break. The surgery lasted 8.5 hours and the surgeon couldn’t understand why I wasn’t paralyzed and how I dealt with the pain. I had 8 rods/screws put in my low back. The pain was worse after surgery. Bone scans showed I had broke my left hip which I didn’t know. Years go by in bad pain. I was hurting in my hips, groin, and low back. I got two SI Injections which took 10 minutes. Within two days, no hip pain or low back pain was minimal. So far after 5 days my sciatic pain is still there but time can tell. I recommend SI Injections. Not painful at all but relief is tremendous.

I am so grateful that something led me to your video. I could hardly walk…no kidding! It was difficult, but I managed to do just one of each of the exercises. By night fall I was getting around pretty much pain free. I can’t thank you enough for sharing this video with the world! I am thankful for you and May God bless you young man! 👏👏

I was a gymnast, very flexible and have had this pain for a few years now. I'm in my 60's now. The belt is fantastic. I can't walk more than 100 ft. without. it. Thank you for addressing this condition.

Amazing video. I've been treated for piriformis syndrome, while the underlying cause is SI joint. I knew it was SI joint, went to the chiro, he said - piriformis. Then he said the knee pain is from inflamed muscle. I know where and when I feel the pain and even before watching this video I was 100% sure I deal with SI Joint. Now I am 1000% sure.

I fell on my behind over a month ago, and started experiencing this pain that you described perfectly, even the pain down the back of the leg. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of those belts!

Wow. After years with back/ hip issues I was referred to a pain mgmt This was the diet time SI came up and suggested I wear a belt. Beautiful!!!! What a difference!!! Still have issues with L3-L5 but at least I can walk again with reduced hip pain….and I am a walker!! Thanks for explaining further

Omg every single word you've said has absolutely described the pain I've had for months. I've had my pelvis realigned. I've had trigger points dry needed. I've done so many isometric workouts for my glutes. I've had an MRI that discovered a bulging L4-L5 disc, which I've started to fix after some red flag symptoms and after ALL OF THAT, I still had sacroiliac pain. I've felt like I've been going mad reading and watching videos around it and discovering the sheer amount of tendons in the area and thinking, "but the edges of my glutes feel weak.... could that be my tendons?" I've just used a regular damn belt, and the pain has just stopped as I've stood up. Proper belt coming in the morning. I'm going to the doctor with this info ASAP. Thank you so much!

I loved this video. Very informative and interesting. I have had this pain for almost 2 years. Went to 3 different physio therapists and, only recently, one said it was the sij. Thank you

Hi Luisa, I’m glad that you found my video to be helpful. I’m sorry that you have been in pain for so long and that your therapists only recently discussed your sacroiliac joint. Hopefully you will get back to feeling 100% soon. Take care!

I just wanted to say thank you for this information… did my own research about the type a pain I was experiencing with even not being able to walk for 5 days. I couldn’t wait for this specific belt so I used an old neoprene sweat belt I had…the instantaneous relief I felt cannot be overstated. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Did it help?

I did end up ordering a belt and yes it did help way more than I expected. The one I bought was kinda poor quality and I ended up sending it back to Amazon but because I know it will help I'm going to eventually order a name brand serola belt as they seem to be better constructed. But I had improvement in pain after only wearing it for 2 weeks and the one from Amazon was only $30 and can be sent back if it doesn't help.

Thank you so much for this wonderful video. My heart goes out to everyone who has so much pain. I've had my pain for only 3 months but it has completely stopped my world. The video explains my pain exactly. I had to use stairs the other day because an escalator was broken. I was crying in pain after three levels. I took the elevator down. I just ordered both products. Thank you for putting a link using Amazon. I'll have my products in 2 days. Many blessings 🙏

Hi Carmel, I’m glad that you found my video on SI joint pain and instability. Many times weight gets used as an excuse when other causes of the patient’s pain can’t be determined. Don’t give up. Keep working with your medical professionals. I’m sending positive thoughts your way for a fully pain-free life!

I have been getting adjustments 4 to 7 times a month for almost 3 years, with very short term relief. When you described symptoms I kept saying "that's me". This is the first time I felt hopeful. Thank you.

This is one of the most helpful explanations I have seen. I have been involved in back injury prevention as a safety professional and risk manager since 1978, including dozens of workshops, seminars and hundreds of hours of training. Especially appreciated your careful explanation of how a person can do things they "think" or feel makes them better, when it only lasts a short time. I also appreciate your caution against high force "hear the crack" manipulation in this particular injury. Lax joints really don't need more stressful motions pulling them apart. Thank you very much.
