For example, if you rent an apartment, you have mediate possession of that apartment because you possess it through a lease agreement with the landlord. The landlord is the one who holds the title to the property, but you have the right to use it based on your rental agreement. In summary, immediate possession is direct and physical control over property, while mediate possession involves a relationship or agreement that grants the right to possess property through another party. Understanding these concepts helps clarify the nature of possession in legal contexts.
