I have an excellent Jeep Dealer…The process took them 2 days…I feel confident all bases were completed..

@wrangler4x3fans - I just called and spoke with Jeep Care. They pulled up the most recent dealership instructions for the B9A recall (which mine was done in less than 3 hours) and everything they read to me was contained within the paperwork that was provided to me from the dealer (18B9A182, 18B9A151, 18B9A152, and 18B9A153 were performed). I asked if there were any charging instructions or sleep cycle instructions included in the documentation they were looking at and they confirmed there was not. Their documents only said that it would take .2 hours to do the Software Update and .6 hours to do the Battery Integrity Routine (might have that backwards). Not sure if this is helpful or just adds to the confusion but according to Jeep Cares, my dealership performed the recall correctly in the few short hours they had it.

This may very well be the issue. It seems like some of them have the incorrect instructions.

Appreciate this post. I've been holding off on my recall because of this very thing. I want the dealer to have done at least a dozen or many more. I'll bring this up when I talk to them to schedule it and make sure they understand the process basically takes a whole day due to the waiting.
@Mantram018 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for this info. Mine is scheduled for the end of the month and the dealer said that it would take 1-2 hours. I will question this prior to taking it there.

If you have the letter from Jeep saying it will take a day and a half to two days, show them that.

Hopefully Jeep can turn the page on this as they have with the clutch recalls. Looking forward to hearing good news soon.

Really? Mine has been in the shop for over a week for another coolant pump. I’ll have to see what it does whenever I get it back.

@@Wrangler4XEFans yes. I hate it. I have to use the manual brake soooo much more

@BrandonHaneline I still wish they would have put an adjustable slider for the amount of regen. And another one for how aggressive the cruise control is.

Thanks for the shoutout! We'll figure this out together in some way. There's still so much to learn, and so many differences. I did learn that there MIGHT be one way that these can be done without the 3 hour sleep cycles. I'll know some more info here shortly. As always - great video, and you and I both are learning, but I often think people like us are so focused on the 4xe platform that we often know more than the people at the dealers, who needless to say don't focus on one small area of the brand. We also often lean the info at the SAME time the dealers do... We're all learning together. You are correct, there's not check to Jeep in knowing that the recall as done properly or not.

Just reading these comments on this post alone tells me there are two methods being utilized. I just hope that the people who got the 1 hour treatment don’t have to go back and do it again. But if it wasn’t done correctly, my concern is that there may be bad batteries still in Jeeps that have been missed.

On the 04B recall my wife did hers and it took 3 hours .. My problem is they are so backlogged getting it reported up to Chrysler warranty to show the recall was done. Apparently, they are backlogged clearing these recalls

I just dropped mine off for the defrost recall. The service guy said “we have ten of these for the recall and we only have one charger, so we’re running real behind.” Which tells me he knows that the process takes a while. He thought I was there for the B9A.

My Jeep dealer said the two 4xes that were in front of mine for the recall B9A fix, both stopped operating as a result of running the diagnostic software, so they put mine on hold. They say they are waiting for a software update before they will continue.....hummmm

Mines at the shop right now trying to just return the car haven’t had full ev function in 4 months and it’s a lease with a couple thousand left I just want to return but now they say because of recall I can’t and those who don’t say that say “since your returning early there’s a termination fee along with we send the car to auction and you pay us the difference” the whole thing with jeep is just a major turn off. Called service today they told me that they tried the b9a 2 times it doesn’t complete now trying a third

Just got my B9A recall letter from Jeep, yesterday, and it states the repair will take upwards of 1-2 days.
@Wrangler4XEFans8 ай бұрын
I heard about that. So Jeep knows how long this should take.

Chris, I had the b9A done, they had the jeep about 36 hours, but it came back with the same charge level as I brought it in (19%). Does this mean they didn't charge it and do the battery test or they ran the battery down doing the test? This may be a more accurate way of seeing if it was done properly, some dealers can keep it a few days and still do it wrong because they are busy in the shop and may not get to it right away. As an aside, back in the shop today (3rd time this year) with the rear lockers light blinking. The advisor mentioned that he has had quite a few of these, some the sensor, some its the wiring where Jeep installed it with it wrapped over a metal part at it chaffed.
@Wrangler4XEFans8 ай бұрын
That’s a great observation and a great question. Could be happenstance but seems odd to me too. What does your paperwork say? On that locker issue, I’ve heard that quite a bit.

@@Wrangler4XEFans It says "Complete Recall B9A Ran Pre Check B9A Battery Integrity Produce and Reprogrammed BPCM and AHCP" Just for note, I had the Jeep in for the death wobble in January, and they did 23-036 and 23-037 then. The BPCM and IDCM were updated at that time.
@Wrangler4XEFans8 ай бұрын
@@Retired_from_TX Based on that, I’d be really curious if they did the sleep cycles. It sounds like they did the first step and just did the updates. It’s worth a call to your service guy to ask.
