I love what Todd is doing with DC, it would be disappointing seeing the license move now that he is hitting his stride with the line. But the thought of McFarlane doing Marvel is just too good to pass up. That being said, I have been saying since the rumors started that I think the company ready to make the jump to the big leagues is SpinMaster. They make some great stuff for DC in the 4" scale. Their recent movie Batman collection has amazing sculpts even at that size. And their recent Playstation collectors line has some amazing quality, paint, articulation and overall presentation. If SM were to pick up the Marvel license I think they would really kill it and deliver some premium product.

Not so much about McFarlane getting a mayor license from another company, but I would like that, since he already does DC Figures, Discovery entertainment would let him do figures of some of their other properties like Hannah Babera or Cartoon Network (specially since the Disney Mirrorverse or the DC figures inspired in Ed McGuinness artwork proves they can work on that style). Could you imagine characters like Blue Falcon or Space Ghost from McFarlane Toys? The *MANY* Ben 10 aliens? The Justice Friends?

I would love to see the Mattel Masters of the Universe style bodies on DC and Marvel. I collect a little from all the companies so I wouldn't complain about licenses getting picked up by different brands. I just want to add new characters to my collection with good sculpts, paint, articulation and accessories. Can someone please make Cyber Force figures? 🙏

Personally I’m all for a new scale for marvel figures I think the McFarlane scale is better than the typical 6 inch legends scale

As much as I like the idea of either company taking on the other's main comic action figure license ( I like seeing DC Customs in Marvel Legends Style and vice versa Marvel Customs in McF DC Multiverse style, ) but I really don't see these two letting go of the licenses that easily. They both make too much money selling the figures and I enjoy the difference in my collection. Though I would like to eventually see some kind of collab to finally make official figures of Amalgam Comics characters like Super Soldier and Dark Claw

Anyone saying no one makes 7” figures is a moron and should be mocked. Mcfarlane, NECA and Super7 all make 7” figures. Those 3 companies account for a large chunk of our collections. There are a ton of smaller companies making 7-8” figures and Hasbro’s Marvel Legends are closer to 7” than 6” now. NECA already has a huge mega-franchise that has them releasing a huge number of figures on a regular basis so yes NEcA could do. It. TMNT animated and Mirage lines feature 100+ figures. Their Predator line is well over 100 figures and Alien is up there. Mcfarlane makes 6” scale figures, too because he has the collector license for all scales period. Spinmaster has the kid license. He also has a 5” line with Super Powers which is doing great. If Hasbro loses Legends they will also lose Star Wars. They’re dumping Disney which owns both properties. Sales of both lines are in the crapper and Hasbro is losing money in the action figure world which is why theyre licensing out their properties. Legends isnt even at Target anymore other than very small runs and not a regular mainstay like they were for years. Theyre wanting to get out of toys and beef up digital gaming and D&D and Magic.

The scale game is always tricky. I just decided to collect characters I like and not worry about the scales. Push comes to shove very few brands if any are true to the actual size of the character vs the so-called scale. Good topic Bones, lets see what the trolls have to say😎😎😎😎

I can see hasbro letting go of the 6 inch figures, but marvel would be surprising, I really don't get the hate Todd gets, his figures are very solid, I prefer the articulation those figures get compared to the outdated legends one, but I really really enjoy the marvel select line, I hope they keep doing 7 inch marvel figures

Hasbro has far better sculpts and articulation. Mcfarlane figures just can’t move and I couldn’t imagine them trying to make a character like Spider-Man. Everyone here saying that hasbros articulation is dated compared to Mcfarlane I genuinely believe have never owned a legends. There’s no way you could pose a mcfarlane Nightwing anywhere near the same as a ML Spider-Man

I’m don’t think the Marvel or DC licenses are as lucrative as they used to be. Unless Hasbro or McFarlane want out, it’s probably in everyone’s best interests, including our own, for the DC and Marvel licenses to stay where they are. For me, 2024 has easily been the best year since the pandemic for both Marvel Legends and DC Multiverse, and I’m loving the rumors and reveals for both lines heading into 2025.

The big license change that I want to happen (and I think actually might happen) is for Jada Toys to get the Mortal Kombat license. They killed it with SF and if they did the same with MK it would be a dream come true. Jada has came onto the scene in a big way very fast and I expect them to only get better as they get more experience with figures. I'd love to see them do something sculpted in a more realistic, less toony manner as well. My main criticism of McFarlane is that he does way too few female figures and when he does them they seem pretty hard to get. Also they do not take scaling into account nearly enough which is a big problem. I don't mind if he releases 100 versions of Batman and Superman a year- if figures aren't for me I just don't buy them. Hasbro/Marvel does have them beat in regards to filling out the roster with more minor characters- McFarlane has main female characters like Zatanna and Black Canary that haven't even gotten figures yet.

Mattel is closer to 7 inch for wwe and motu (masters if the universe). I have a lot of jakks pacific wwe and tna wrestling from about 2000 to 2010ish. Mattel is making the wwe figures now, for a few years. Mcfarlane making Star Wars figures would be cool. The issue in Disney Star Wars is churning out not so good shows so figures aren’t selling well.

I think Mattel owns Masters of the Universe if I'm not mistaken, they sold part of the IP but they still have some saying in what happens. The thing I want to see the most is the Thundercats mashup with Masters of the Universe, I'm really looking for a Lion-O in Origins form with removable gear and also the other main characters. I'll be up for even a Thunder Thank from this line.

I don't understand the hate for Mcfarlane. I love the 7 inch line and think it works well. It does make mixing and matching harder with other lines, but I don't mind. If Mcfarlane moves to Marvel I will be really picky but thats only because I don't collect too much from that line.

I think people talk from an emotional stance, I do like DC way more than Marvel, but still, I don't hate anything. I have some Iron Man on the 80th anniversary body mold. I think what happens is that fanboy war, like the console wars, I've followed recently a war between fanboys from Federer, Nadal and Djokovic in the tennis world. All these guys made their money and a lot of guys spent countless hours arguing who's the best, and after their career is over, everyone is still having the same mindless discussions.
