Kind of crazy things that are most important to us like medicine are made overseas. By the way if they really wanted to cut down on CO2 emissions they would not ship things around the world.

Back in the 1980s & 90s I worked for an American big pharma company that was even then systematically shutting down plants and moving them to foreign countries. Evidently, the big shots had zero conscience issues from pulling the rug out from under thousands of their fellow Americans in order to make more money from factories in banana republics that pay their impoverished workers in rice & beans. The problems of so many things no longer being American owned or operated are quite deep and are not new. This trap has sprung on us in slow motion over several decades. Only changing the laws that make American businesses difficult or impossible to run will begin to reverse the damage.

Keen boots made in USA with foreign made materials. Keen boots last longer than any other boot I have worn for over the past 10 years. Gildan tees from a few years back have been great for me. Carharrt tees last a long time, even though they are made in Guatemala, 10 plus years and going.

I prefer quality over where the name brand is from . Like Honda motors are much more reliable than any American brand .. . Just an example.. I think American made Harley’s are probably some of the most unreliable engines in the world , it’s just a fancy brand but it will never last as long as Honda , Yamaha , Kawasaki etc

Unfortunately, I agree. I buy American where I can, but I bought a Subaru that was made in Japan, though they do make some in the US. If it has a motor, I buy something reliable and doesn’t need repairs or replacement all the time. Clothes and home goods, I look at labels and never buy anything made in China!

Coincidentally, one of the Ariats you have, and as seen in some recent videos of you wearing them with the pants tucked in, I have the same black ones, and to wear them at times with the pants tucked in for ease of getting in and out of them when doing certain yard work. They are very comfortable compared to the other Ariats that I have that are all made in China. May be it's because of the wider square toe and softer rubber soles that make less noise when walking on hard wood floors ? Anyway, I hope you can do a video to compare your old Ariats to the Double H boots that you recently got. I'm assuming they are also of those western pull on style, and it would be interesting to know if there's really a big difference. I prefer those pull on boots than those laced up. As long as there are demands and a global market for people who wants "cheaper" products, those companies will still manufacture their stuffs in those low cost countries where they have already invested for years.

So much has been done through excess gov't regulations & taxation that makes it nearly impossible to start businesses here in the USA now. It is no wonder the prices are so high. I helped a friend try to start a small business a few years ago, bottling & selling Asian sauces. The gov't hoops & taxation for this tiny business venture were unbelievable and she finally gave up.

Buying made in USA means Expensive!!! Always buy my clothes from Walmart cost $3 - $18 and last at least 8 years. Harbor Freight sells cheap tools where I can buy 5 for the price of a name brand. If it breaks toss it out. BTW, my underwear, socks and bed sheets is made with bamboo made in Caribbean islands. Bottom line: Buying made in the USA is for the rich people. But I wonder how many ultra wealthy actually buy American made products.

The part your missing is that a lot of factories manufacting here in USA are hiring illegal immigrants. Soo, does it really matter? To me, not really. What matters is the quality of the product IMO.
