Never seen that type of heater before, intriguing! Love the idea of a hot tent set up without the need for wood or having to smoke yourself out in the process. I wonder what else is out there , mmmm 😊

I have had a bit of a look around, seems like a gap in the market to me. Thanks for commenting big A!

Just in case anybody doesn’t know, yellow in a flame is caused by glowing soot. Soot means combustion is incomplete so there will be carbon monoxide coming from the flame. Despite which, I have been wondering whether I could create an ultralight hottish tent with my Trailstar and two tiny twig stoves. One of the stoves is a Ti DX and the other is from Bob Cartwright. If I pitched the Trailstar with a corner up to create an open front on the shelter, the stoves could go either side of the front pole. To me and probably to no one else, a Trailstar with the corner up is a bit like a Baker tent. It might work the same way if the fires weren’t too fierce.

Good luck with that!

A unique approach to hot tenting - very novel! Shame it's discontinued, feels like something that could be custom made to those more DIY inclined, just weld a pan to a trangia maybe 😁

You can probably buy the fuel cartridge as they do them for their other stoves. It's the big capacity that is the attraction. Thanks for adding.

There was something on QI about Swedes(?) carrying tea light candles in their cars in case of being benighted in winter. Lit on the dashboard (presumably sat on something to stop it melting the plastic and with a window chinked for air) it could stave off exposure/hypothermia. Which got me thinking… could I make a diy jar candle heater, similar to the UCO candlelier, but with tea lights to heat my tent ???😊 I’m currently eyeing up suitable jars 😅

Very good Guy. But have a look at a video of mine from a couple of years ago. Can a uco warm a freezing tent or words like that. There is a 1 and 2 man version. Cheers and thanks for commenting..

I have camped with a few tea lights and heated up my tent that way.

Shame, its an interesting device ( I got mine off ebay)

Compass are remanufacturing various Origo bits, but not sadly, the oven that attaches to the 3000 twin burner stove. Would LOVE to be able to get one of those and get gas off the boat!@@Fellmandave1

I suggest anyone considering doing this, uses a carbon monoxide monitor. They are cheap and could save your life
