This video brought back great memories of the many years I did one-man back country camping in mostly Rocky Mountain National Park, before becoming severely disabled from cancer. In those days I used an MSR Whisperlite white gas stove, no coffee grinder, and everything else much the same. When you sat on the log drinking hot coffee, drinking in the wilderness, for a moment I was back there too. Merry Christmas 🎁

Yeah I hear you this was great back in the day like was 20 years ago. And I feel for you about your disability especially with your cancer I hope you live many many more years. But I have a disease also that change my life dramatically it's very hard to do physical things I can't do them anymore really. And I miss the wilderness the adventures even just a simple thing of walking in the woods all day long or even a day of hunting. But good luck with you I'm wishing you the best

I couldn't agree more. I like the idea of camping but hate actually doing it. Waking up in the cold at night, can't go back to sleep because of it, back/ neck pains when you wake, etc etc. But watching these videos just feels so peaceful and primal. Nothing else matters but getting a fire going for the night and setting up camp, all your big problems you stress about don't even exist anymore, it's peaceful. I hope high tech VR takes off in my lifetime so I can camp like this without the real world strains lol

I made a tent stove out of an old steel mailbox, some colapsable dryer vent pipe sections, foil tape and a rack out of an old toaster oven. I turned it on it's side, made a union by cutting c circle the size of the pipe into pie slices and bending them up for the pipe to sit on, put 4 drywal screws through the side for the rack to sit on as a burn shelf. Works great and it was free except for the tape.

I am this kinda crazy as well, haven’t had a chance to do a full setup but I had my “birthday party” as a teen with a 4 person tent about 3 miles in the woods, set up a temporary lean-to, and started a big bonfire in about 16 inches of fresh snow. My parents laughed, they thought it was cool and half the people I invited left before nightfall, but the people who stayed got to share the booze I got 😉 slept all nice and cozy in a dope sleeping bag, woke up and made coffee the OG way with the sunrise, truly a dream like memory Something about sitting around a fire in a clearing, so many sounds yet so quiet, I gotta get a camping pack and do something like this ❤

Awesome setup. All of you young folks out there pay attention and know that life passes by fast. I was too busy trying to feed a family of six to get to do very much of this and when I could it was always poor-boying it. I am not complaining but offering advice. Get outside and do it while you can. Invest in some good gear early in life. I still camp and enjoy it very much but can car camp only. I would have to call 911 to get help getting in and out of that tent but would love to give it a try. Back packing in would be so great, it allows you to go where most people can't or won't and that is my style. Great video!

As always, a great tent and camping video. What I like best about your camping trips is that you are always prepared, are never ever going to be cold with those stoves, and you pick the best locations. And its always fun!!

Winter camping looks relaxing, under snow fall with a heater that works as a stove, and just occasionally finding clean snow to use as water, and plus you don't have to worry about bugs bothering you

So cool !!! I enjoy watching these types of videos so much that I am considering camping out like that at least once in my lifetime. Of course there are a million ways of doing this with all kinds of different tools and comforts so it's definitely going to be an adventure. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

That looks a beautiful spot you chose, I imagine it's awesome in summer too. That tent is very well designed, a heating/cooking and separate sleeping area, what impressed me was that it all fits in a backpack. I enjoyed this video 👍⛺

I like your videos. You focus on the practical aspects of the adventure and deliver the salient pieces and let the observer observe/learn. Other channels I have been watching while the focus is on the adventure, the main thread is a monologue of the developer. Keep doing what you are doing. It is appreciated.

@@garysmart1 Good camera does not equal good production quality, try filming yourself doing something mundane like swiping the floor, try to make it look good, get the proper natural light if possible. I won't even step into the audio quality, which is most of the time quite a disaster past a few steps away from the camera's inner mic.

Congrats on all the success. I remember watching when there was just a handful of views per video and couldn't believe how they got so few considering the amount of work that went into each one. It just shows how sticking with your work ethic and winning formula leads to success in the end.

Great content. Salute on the diy stove stack design. A ground tarp supported with straw would have been a plus. Here in the woods of north central Florida, we require a sealed floor tent or wake up bit by something & more than once. Keep up the adventure. 😜
