Dude you are genuinely making a masterpiece with these upgrades. So hard to wrap your mind around a customizable blueprint like the size of those skyscrapers which have interiors and can be populated with more assets. Takes regular carboard cutout buildings from most games and turns it into a truly immersive experience if the player can go inside each building. Keep up the good work bro!

@@KimmoKaunela 100 percent!! You are single handedly helping people make Last of Us quality games in quarter of the time. Don't forget to keep pushing the visual quality/realism as much as you are pushing the technical blueprint aspects and your assets will even start rivaling Last of Us 2 quality which is a pretty high bar to cross.

Thanks! PCG is something I need to look more into but in theory that would be perfect for this kind of stuff because it works "offline" so the runtime cost is much lower compared to this one.

@KimmoKaunela
@KimmoKaunela Жыл бұрын
Okay good! If you select the building blueprint and find "Scattering" category in the Details panel, you will find an option called "Allow Walls Scattering". That will control if it will scatter something on walls. If you want to control the moss texture then you can open the "Apperance" category in the same panel and change "Ground Dust Amount".

Is there a quick way to have a non-nanite version in UE5.2 without having to open in UE4, switch the engine version to 5.2 and hope it all works?
@KimmoKaunela
@KimmoKaunela 9 ай бұрын
Easiest way would be to open Project Settings and disable Nanite and restart the editor. After that it will use fallback meshes so meshes that will use regular LODs. Obviously those meshes can look different because Unreal needs to decimate them a lot.
@DavidNGoodman
@DavidNGoodman 9 ай бұрын
@@KimmoKaunela Sure that would work to downgrade the UE5 scene to non-nanite. The UE4 version isn't nanite though so should have better LODs right?
@KimmoKaunela
@KimmoKaunela 9 ай бұрын
@@DavidNGoodman UE4 version is still using Unreal generated LODs but the actual meshes are much more low poly to beging with. Latest UE5 version of this map is using much more detailed meshes and textures compared to UE4 version. The biggest issue with regular LODs in UE5 is the actual LOD transitions that can look quite bad no matter how good the actual LOD looks like.

Hi there, I added this to my project and it just didn't work at all. Nothing is changed it's exactly the same. How would I fix at all?
@KimmoKaunela
@KimmoKaunela Жыл бұрын
Hi! The latest update 2.0 is only available for Unreal Engine 5.1 and up because it's using features that are not fully done/functional in older engine versions unfortunately. That also means that 2.0 version is not 100% backward compatible with older versions of this pack. Updated pack is now around 5,9 Gigs due to all the changes, better textures and additional assets. If you wish to update your existing version of this pack, it is highly recommended to clear your Vault Cache and then add it into a UE 5.1 project. You can read more about that in the updated documentation too ( docs.google.com/document/d/1bWTLosM2wOUU5qi4G-ErtDPPcDMb606ZlpKUH6LQEUA/edit?usp=sharing ).
