It seems to be working for me. It’s not labeled as “Part 2” tho. It’s labeled “End”

An invasion of giant cockroaches, threaten The Big Apple! 🍏

The description of the initial crisis is well done. Good word-pictures. And good characterisation - Nick is no self-sacrificial hero, just curate’s-egg human. One quibble. No broadcast outfit would delay a public safety announcement, let alone one as dramatic as asteroid impact, by eleven minutes. Not by one minute. The studio gallery are well aware of what the stories are, because the director there has already discussed them (and the resulting running order) with the senior editor. So these people would all have known and understood the urgency of this story the moment they got it unexpectedly - while Nick was still gazing at himself in the mirror. Terra would just have burst in and said something like, “Public safety emergency, GET ON AIR NOW!!” and dragged him into the studio. If the intended announcer is not right in the studio there right when a major public safety story comes in, or if they’re more than a few steps away in the Green Room, then the director would use anybody who can read. Usually, senior editors will already have done their time as presenters, and there will be other, junior newsroom people who have had some training. There is always a live, in-house channel (different names in different organisations) available to everyone in the building, where you can hear, and usually see, what’s being said in the studio (and sometimes the directors’ gallery) whether it is being broadcast to the public or not. Presenters often forget that, though. Lots of black humour and cynicism on display! So in fact quite a number of other people in the building would hear about this threat the moment anyone in the studio or gallery mentioned it. And if the news anchor wanted to check whether something wild was a real story, he would check with the senior editor, or at the last minute the gallery, the people he hears in his earpiece. He can talk to them even if he has no earpiece yet: someone in Terra’s role would relay their answers. Anyhow, the rest of what happens next is very well done. It is extremely unnerving, when you are heading downstairs in an emergency, and hot smoke is boiling upwards.

"Thank you so much for your detailed comments and valuable suggestions! I'm very glad that you found the initial crisis description and Nick's character development interesting. I also truly appreciate you pointing out the inconsistencies in the script regarding the handling of emergency information in a television station. I completely agree that the response to an emergency situation like a meteor collision should be quicker and more accurate. The information you provided about the procedures in the control room and how the staff should handle the situation is very helpful. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. If you have any further suggestions, I would love to hear them!"

@@chrismeinaslkdjchrome1045 The newsrooms have protocols to check the veracity of a huge, urgent story. Someone would be double-checking that it came from an appropriate source and the details are correct, while someone else is writing the copy and someone else (like Terra) is getting the announcer (any announcer but preferably the scheduled one or one the viewers know) behind the desk and mic’d up. But anyway, the action descriptions are great. It makes me think quite a lot about how many different kinds of people escaped in various ways - or didn’t - on 9/11. I’m still just at the initial impact part.

@@chrismeinaslkdjchrome1045 The narrator is good too. BTW.

"That's right, the narrator really adds life to the story. Thanks for sharing! I'm also very curious about how the characters react in such a tense situation."
