Very sad to see. However, showing cctv footage to the public in the UK is a criminal offence so could actually hurt a court case or arrest so may want to edit these bits out and the victim may end up being in hot water themselves. CCTV operators may not share any footage that identifies individuals on any form of public media. Footage should only be transferred if requested by the police, and in that scenario, the imagery remains subject to the rules of the Data Protection Act.

Glad the shop was able to bounce back so quickly. For independent shops they have to factor in rent, staff, insurance, rates etc as well as sourcing games at reasonable prices and still make a profit and be competitive as well as warranty if product ends up faulty (common due to the age and condition of retro games) or not realizing it was a reproduction or fake- and then potential theft on top. I feel in general the games in the UK do not seem to rise as high as in the USA but consoles are increasing at a much higher rate (I wish Hyperkin and Retro-bit sold their clone systems in the UK more in mainstream retail stores like Argos as apart from the super retrocade very little apart from the atgames megadrive clones which are nowhere near perfect and also no longer available in normal retail stores anymore) to help control the price of consoles more - also not helpful when one of the KZbin ads on the video was CEX- saying they will buy used consoles and games! Good pick ups too- I have the UK versions of the Resident Evil remake on GameCube and Wii, Resident Evil 0 on the GameCube and Resident Evil 3 on the playstation.

Let’s be real KZbin / TikTok retro content is always highlighting the high values of certain consoles/ games even the average person not even looking for retro content can stumble across it. If they are scum they are gonna see it as an extremely easy option for quick cash! If a retro buyers see a rare game or console with £50 off it’s normal price will anyone actually think twice! 👀

I'd never met the owner but the young lad that was there is a nice lad. Nobody should have their business assets stolen and I sincerely hope its not a member of the community who could commit that. It really is a nice shop and I'll definitely be returning. Was lovely to meet 5 gaming youtubers there in a single day. You've picked up some love games there sadly I had all the gameboy games there, but going for a full set I get that most places. Again sorry for jumping on the vid I just got excited.

well i mean if stores would stop over pricing stuff and scalping stuff then they would not be held at gun point . lets be honist local game stores would not be getting much hate now and less people in them if it wasn ot worth the price at my local mom and pop game store i live in florida they was selling xenosaga 3 the only one i am missing in my collection for 400$ because they see it on ebay and amazon for that price now i have too force too collect the japanese versions of those games . also pokemon soul silver and heart gold does not deserve too be 300 or 250 at local game stores .
