So funny and so true! I thought I was the only person who felt like a prisoner in my own kitchen sometimes- especially after company for many days.... Had to LOL when you said this!!!! And the stages of clean and how the stage is not uniform although you are the same person cleaning! Wow- like a peak into my psyche. AND "The Final Countdown" music- how fitting a tune when you are so looking forward to the end! Thank you- this was great!!!!!!

Oh, that's the worst! It *never* fails, and usually when I have done something approximating a "House Beautiful" photoshoot level of clean in the kitchen - suddenly, phantom dishes appear in my shiny sink from under sofas and the depths of kid rooms - though eating was supposed to be banned in the bedrooms and in fact, mom and dad do not eat in their room...

If food is dried on, they won't come out of the dishwasher clean. The advice not to clean them before you put them in the dw is for freshly dirtied dishes ...Scrape and put in dw. For food that has been sitting on dishes for a while ... soak, scrape, and put in dw.
