Hi friends welcome back! Throne and Liberty has been a weird journey. Full of ups and downs in the short time since its release. I hope it can stand the test of time and keep a ton of players interested cause we all know we need another good mmo to play, but in it's current state I'm not 100% positive it can.

Hopefully Throne and Liberty can make a quick turnaround before NA/EU release or else this is gonna be some of the biggest complaints about the game long term. I want to see this game flourish cause at its core it is fun. But the issues need to be talked about. Thanks for being here friends!

Yeah the issues are kind of hard coded into the game. The trait system while good for the health of the game in that you delete items to stabilize the economy at the top end, it ends up making the game way more frustrating once new gear comes. It's gonna feel really awful to get a new weapon and then wait 2 months to be able to use it cause it's just statistically weaker than what you've been using.

I am looking for an MMORPG for quite some time now and i have high hopes on TL. I played Neverwinter for a long time but the game is stck in time, and is no longuer fun to play, and since i dont like "top down" games my choices are limited. Your review is greatly appreciated because helped me to leve my expectations. Do you know of any others MMORPG that deserve a try? Thanks again!

Thank you for this in-depth overview. I think devs gave proof of their "we have no concept of game design at all" when you look at the craft materials needed to get tevent's or Bellandir's weapon. You need for Tevent 3 soul stones with each of them requiring 60 soul stone fragments. a total of 180. You can make Tevent once per week, and get ONE box where you have a chance ( 6x3.5 years ==> 21 years to get your weapon. Seriously ? Devs implemented this to show you right away WE DON'T WANT YOU TO GET THIS WEAPON! NEVER! PAY FOR IT!

Update: I quit playing because the game is not healthy for the average player. and while i consider myself able to play games for more time than the average player T&L still doesn't make me excited to log into every day. I hear its getting better but it still isn't enough to draw my attention back.

Yep 100%. I love farming in mmo’s, but this is a first one where I really hate it. Even if you get the item it either has the wrong trait (which is super cheap on the market) or you can only use it if you get many more copies of it. Also 1hp and its alliences made it impossible to participate in any guild or pvp events on the asota server

Well some ppl like that , fibally an mmo that doesnt give anythong for free , and sorry but TL has no farming or grind really :p 1hp mind of did what they did thats why devs are applying changes ?! U cant only see ur psrt of the story lol

I am part of 1hp and will always have love for my 1hp family. It's not that 1hp is the problem cause you are about to see on the server that's it's actually the systems the devs put in place and the people exploiting verbal contracts. Namely the guild What. You can just say "hey we won't attack you and you get blah blah" and then pvp dies on the server. Just like it did on the Wisp server. In 1hp pvp was ok but I understand outside of 1hp and Roses pre merge it was awful for anyone that wasn't in those two alliances. But pre merge there was 0 pvp on wisp server because What literally ran everyone and everything out. They need to have a system of instances but they were scared to do that cause they wanted a persistent world where everyone saw everything happening at once. And While that is cool its a hindrance on the gameplay they are trying to achieve.

I don't know if I can stand by that... Having played and still playing one of the best if not the best PvP Mmorpg of all times, Dark age of Camelot... it has resist % to resist casted spells, % to evade, parry, block attacks... Otherwise it's just whoever hits the ability first PvP.

I grew up in that Era as well. My first mmo was UO when I was a wee lad. I've lived through the bad patches and bad game designs that plagued our predecessors and I critique this because I want throne and liberty to be as enjoyable as possible. The issue currently is CC and evasion. CC is way too strong without much counter play. Obviously you can Q counter a lot of dagger stuff if you have a physical weapon but but in general CC is instant and detrimental and combat the ttk they buffed evasion and endurance. I could understand endurance getting buffed totally and I agree with it. Evasion is what make the game less interactive. But I totally get where you are coming from

Also, I’m on vacation this month and have played this game like it’s my job. Ridiculous amount of hours and still feel like I can’t progress, especially due to the gatekept content like 3 dungeons a day and 10 contracts.

No I think he’s saying he wishes he could grind dungeons more actually. It’s currently capped at 3 per day.

It was basically D&D with visuals back then. Simpler time for sure. Incredibly fun and also more casual, but I do like the combat of todays game for sure.

A solution to the zerg driven mmos, is that tax the alliance with more people, is a simple as that. The more people you have in the alliance you get penalties. Secondly server domination in l2 was common thing, so what happens each server is dominated by an alliance, and then the pvp content transfer to cross server instances. And lastly the game need to get back autohunt or astralhunting in PvE as the PvE content is boring as hell plus it will be more realistic for dad gamers and 9 to 5 people to play the game. then for any pvp content the autohunt should be disable.

Im really glad they are working more on it and pushing forward with fixing the issues. And i truly hope it becomes a great game in the east and west. I dont want more bad games. I want games that devs care about and want to pour their hard work and enjoyment into to create fun platforms for all of us to experience. Its been about 4-5 months since I personally have dedicated a lot of time to it. But I really do hope it resonates with people.

If you dont wanna miss, add more hit lol. I have 1300 hit and I barely miss anymore. Stop thinking inside the box that you need all the dps in the world. The damage is pointless if you cant hit ur opponents. I like the current update of x2 evasion / endurance. It makes all items usable now.

So currently i have 15k hp and around 750 hit and the whole point of the explanation is that building to not miss, a mechanic that has plagued gaming for years for inconsistency in competitive games, isnt fun. It wasnt fun 20 years ago and still funny enough isnt a fun mechanic to interact with today. Thats the whole point. Yes you can build towards it to circumvent the mechanic in place. That doesnt make it any more fun to interact with. Especially when dealing with CC with massive cooldowns on either side.

@@DJMontague Nah it is fun, you missing the point, all you see is losing side because you are on it, imagine being that guy with 1.5k evasion and 1.3k hit, you can 1v5 easily because nobody can hit you and you hit everybody. That's where it's fun, and it should make you want to achieve those stats to be able to do that. It's not a casual MMO even if the devs are catering to casuals for the global release, it's Lineage3 after all. Grind and become 1 v party machine in an PvP MMO is very fun for a lot of people.

We dont know truly how much choice AGS has within the development but if i were in their shoes I would look at the gearing process as a massive turn off for western fans. The amount of time investment to get fully kitted it so much as a F2P player and then on top of that, getting new gear isnt even that exciting because of how rare gear drops firstly and second how much gear you need before you can use the new piece
