I worked in the kitchen when I was a young 18 . Stayed on from spring to fall. You meet interesting guest's from around the world. Andre and George add their own brand of charm to this establishment. When you weren't working you were hiking or climbing. Great time.

Beautiful place was there twice for dinner in the late 70s and early 80s,the area is magnificent.

The overlook Hotel 😆 no really, it reminds me a bit of the Movie "shining". But this Hotel and the landscape Look amazing!!!!!!

Great looking place. The fireplace, baloney, fresh fruit and views are great. The no AC is a problem. Overall, A+ in my book. Thanks for sharing.

We stay at the Post EVERY year in September. You CAN NOT compare this to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It is an ENTIRELY different venue. Personally, when we are at the Post WE ARE HOME!! We have been going here for over 20 years and yes prices are going up every year and they dont offer any discounts, but hey it is Lake Louise. Call me crazy but we actually like the sound of the trains at night and stay in the O suite every time. George and Andre are in the dining room most every evening and I always say hello to them. They are NOT "stuck up" as some commenter posted here. We look forward to every September now. we fly out of Newark NJ and the fares on Air Canada/United are around 300-350.00 USD Round trip per person. Renting an SUV out of Calgary every time. Check prices on expedia and keep checking every month because the rates change. We have not got the courage to visit in the winter, but one September it actually started to snow lightly. What a treat that was. We were in the Fairmont sitting in front of the giant windows that overlook the lake. It was a scene and experience we will never forget. See ya soon George and Andre.

Great hotel but the trains may wake me up even if I'm not in a west facing room. Furniture in the room looks worn and seen its best days. I think an update is needed

@Scott Scotty Understood. I made a reservation for what I thought would be two rooms for three adults or one suite with two bedrooms, for my wife and me and her sister. When we arrived, they said no such accommodations were available but we can put you in one room with a roll-in bed for your wife's sister. We had no choice but to accept that arrangement given the arrival date of our reservation at the Fairmont. The front desk attitude was not particularly helpful, much less apologetic. Beyond all this, we did not think the cuisine was all that good for the price. We did like sitting in chairs listening to the river. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Maybe we'd take a chance another time just for the river atmosphere even tho', as you know, directly across the river is a small shopping center. Thanks for your comment.

The property is unique and is hands down superior to Chateau Louise for charm and value. At it’s elevation, evenings cool nicely, AC is not required and you can enjoy the clean air.

Stayed there in the winter of 2014. Excellent hotel. You know it's a good place when you drive up to the lobby the attendant parks your car and brings your luggage to your room. Salt water pool was great. The linen on the beds was superior. The food in the restaurant was perfect. One night for two was around $325 cad. The log cabins are $500. I shall return for sure. Apparently they have a wine selection of 25,000 bottles.
