I was never a Post Malone fan (nor am I now), but 'Circles' was a tune I heard on the radio back in 2019, and I've always felt that it was a very well-written one.
The structure is very straightforward, but the melody line and vocal delivery has a haunting quality that drew me in. Apart from that, it was the hypnotic bassline that held everything together.
After taking the time to pick it apart, the key characteristic was a laid-back, palm muted riff an octave up, but some production magic seems to have added the low end fatness during the chorus - this is where I've decided to kick in some octave to emulate the same feel.
