I think him rollin’ into country so close to Beyoncé doing it, (I dunno, because she was bored? 🤷‍♂️) didn’t help. I still don’t get what makes him a dirtbag. Authenticity in country/western music has always been a big deal. Same as the blues. There will always be bigotry or gatekeepers as much as there are open-armed fans.
