I’m a Notts County fan and love my club. Despite the local rivalry, I have tremendous regard for Steve Cooper. He’s a proper football bloke and worked wonders at Forest. Wish them all the luck in the world in the Prem.

honestly never really considered Notts as a rival. Or Mansfield. I like to think that we're "team Nottingham". The Derbyshire teams on the other hand....! All the best this season!

Steve Cooper is one of those rarities that can talk the talk extremely well and walk the walk even better. I think the Notts v Forest fan rivalry is more on the part of Notts. Most Forest fan I know are indifferent to Notts or follow how they do. Whichever team you follow when they do well it’s good for the Nottingham family as a whole.

Don't worry at all. Have you not seen or listened to Cooper since he arrived? When he says one thing he means the other( A bit of misdirection) He is FULLY aware on what is happening and keeping expectations on the level.

Notts County fan here. We will happily take them as loanees or something. You move the ball well. Been tough to get back into the EFL the last few seasons (making playoffs, getting knocked out), we could use them. I am always surprised in the gulf between "a solid Championship player" and "regular 1st teamer in the PL". The Raphina's and Kalvin's of the world are far and few between. Unfortunately, some of the lads that helped you get to the PL, won't get to see the fruits of their labor, but it is a business and the club is always greater than a single man. Other than County, you'll have me cheering Forest on all season. Good luck

I think cooper has basically said ' sign me the players, put us in a position with as strong a squad as possible, if you do that, then I will sign' perfect in my opinion cos it makes Marinakis put his hand in his pocket ( which I thought he was always going to do anyway) and cooper to top if off after having £100m+ spent on a new squad for the future will then put his name to it

I think it's been a very bad pre season for youngsters and fringe players cuz they haven't performed well at all I think we'll start to see players like Taylor Lolley cafu da costa Silva etc leaving permanently soon and players like mighten and Mbe soh on loan to the championship cuz SC has given them plenty of opportunities in pre season and they have failed to impress

Cooper seems to have a bit more of a cut throat edge to him now we are in the prem which is good I guess. Was quite straight to the point about how some of the players were simply not good enough and seeing if some of them wanted to play for us or not. His answer to more incomings was very definitive and it didn't sound like he thought he just needed one or 2 more, sounds like he still wants 5 or 6. I assume he is playing down knowing the names of the players linked, especially mangala as that is 99% done. Not great if he genuinely doesn't know who is on the verge of signing etc, sure that isn't the case though. Mangala will be good, carvalho would be a smart signing to fortify us within the prem. Would like to see cornet signed.

Aaron Ramsey would be nice too. I feel as though the *only* area we are lagging with is premier league experience. Jesse obviously helps with that but I feel as though we need more. Cooper's gone for players that have a point to prove and Ramsey certainly fits that with his Juve exit and World Cup aspirations

@@Matthew-bu7fg I would take him if we could sort out a similar contract/ deal to lingard, that would mean him having to take a heavy pay cut from what he was earning at jive, think he would though with the world cup around the corner and to be back in UK around family joining a project back in the prem with the Welsh contingent that we have at the club. Not end of world if he doesn't come, his fitness has been a big issue over last couple years, we just need to keep getting these decent transfers through the door that we are seeing

Mighten, L. Taylor and Ojeda were poor. Mbe Soh and Laryea did a decent enough job. I expect most of them to be out on loan or sold by the end of the window.

I'd like to keep Mighten around. He always has a knack of providing something dynamic from the bench plus he's a local lad and I feel like if we keep a core of those (him, Smith, Worrall, Yates, Johnson) then it'll be good to demonstrate to the others about what playing for Forest means

He's absolutely raging, let's be honest. Lyle Taylor got absolutely bullied all night by a conference defence. Ojeda put in one of the single worst performances I've ever seen in what was arguably the biggest night of his career to date despite it being a friendly. Biancone looked poor most of the night, apart from being good in the air. Cafu wasn't quite as bad, but was the most senior player on the pitch and failed to impose himself at all on non league opposition, when he should have been running the game. Mighten couldnt get anything going either. It was woeful, and Cooper doesnt look happy.

@@forestranger5408 I didn't say a single word against the kids, neither did Cooper. It was the senior, first team squad members that were poor. It's quite obvious from Cooper's comments there that he's not happy with their performance.

He 100% did. The comment in which he speaks about players he hasn't heard anything about refers to players we've been linked with, who were never targets at any point.
