MB Yeah, you're right, the word "weakness" is not PC. I didn't modify anything on the template. I didn't think to change it. I was so happy to find something so nicely organized and usable. I found it just in time for fall conferences! Funnily enough, I purposely chose not to say the word "weakness" during the conferences. I should have changed it on my form, though. Will definitely do that for next time.

If you need your anchor chart laminated still, OfficeMax or Office Depot should be able to do it as long as one side is less than 24 inches long. It'd be by the square foot, but lamination is about 50% percent off right now....I think. I took the weekend off because I'm hitting that end of the semester stress and my second job just needed to not be a thing this week. To clarify, sales change on Sundays. This week might be completely different with sales.

@BlackRoze297 жыл бұрын
Malissia Frye Not at OfficeMax. Teacher discounts are only during back to school. (I work there on weekends and I teach. I have this conversation a lot.) Teachers can sign up for a teacher rewards card but that's basically the same as anyone else's. Just coupons are a little different. If you want a discount, you need your school district to sign up for contract pricing through Office Depots corporate office.

I never get my planning time. Example: last week... Monday: meeting with admin Tuesday: the guidance teacher was not at school (no sub) Wednesday: meeting with instructional coach Thursday: art teacher was not at school (no sub) Friday: I FINALLY GOT MY PLANNING! We have 2-3 meetings every week. I am not in a union state so they are allowed to take our planning for meetings if they want to. We are never able to get subs because it’s such a rough school. If the specials teachers get subs they usually pull them for a classroom teacher who is out. I end up going to my classroom everyday at 6:45 when I don’t have to be there until 7:30. This is one of the many reasons that I am looking for a new job mid year.

If you take your anchor chart and fold it in half you can run it through the laminator. Then unfold it, half will be laminated, you could do the same to the other side. However, I'm not big on laminating them, because sometimes the light hits it and it can be hard to see.

High school classrooms never seemed quite as fun as elementary and primary! I don’t know if the teachers I had weren’t feeling it, couldn’t, or what, but I miss the fun and excitement of an elementary classroom! Another great vlog, I know this is none of my business but being with a partner myself who has had to put work first as he was a business owner, and being the person on the outside, we got to spend more time together despite this by him including me in some of his work, so maybe have Billy help you with making resources or in filming in some way. By my now husband including me and getting me to do stuff for him and with him we got to spend more time together and I had a better understanding of what he did. It wasnt the complete solution, but I know that when you have a super busy partner it can be quite frustrating to feel scheduled. I also found ways to insert myself into his time and creating a routine of certain things we had to do daily - such as a text when you have a spare moment, a phone call at a certain time (as he worked very late). I am not telling you in any way what to do but just hoping a little advice might help you out as I know being in a new job with a new grade is a lot, but come next year things will be so much better for you and its hard for your other half, but you just have to learn how to enjoy the snatched moments you have when you can. My husband no longer has his own business and now its me training to be a teacher who is so busy, but he helps me make resources so is involved and its lovely working together like that, he gets an understanding for what i do that way just like i did with him. Anyway, super waffly comment, so me, but loved the vlog and loved your christmas lights xx

Hey Michelle! You are such an inspiration to me. I graduate in May and actually just passed my Praxis II test! One thing I super struggle with is differentiating in a whole-group lesson setting. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Anyone welcome to answer!
@thesouthernschoolbelle6077 жыл бұрын
Miss Taylor you can use your questioning to differentiate in a whole group. I’m a new teacher, but have a wide range of learners in my class this year. You can also give students different tasks for example if you are teaching characters, setting, plot.. give a student who struggles the option to give you a character while you may ask someone else to give you 3. Whole group is hard, but most of my days I use small groups and only do whole groups to give our instruction or start my lessons. You can also pair kids based on ability during a large group lesson. That will help your lower babies feel successful and become exposed to different ways a thinking. I don’t know if this makes any sense lol, but good luck with student teaching!
