The Post Office is a service, not a business. The loss is irrelevant to its intended function. You wouldn't say the Fire Department losses money.

That is correct, I was pointing that out to people who claim the post office is a business and not a governmental service to the people. It is supposed to be self funded by purchases according to congress, but hasn’t broke. Even since 2006. It is governed by the executive branch of the United States Government. That’s why agencies are supposed to have budgets, and not be considered losses

She talks to people like they are ignorant for not knowing postal rules and regulations but doesn’t take the time to inform any one of them. I’m confused, like most of my city as to why she’s still employed there.

The postal employee union is considered a public sector union, they operate in facilities which are owned or leased by the federal government, the postmaster general is not a private position, their rules are drafted by the federal government, their security is provided by Federal Protective Services. It's a public entity. It may not work like any other government agency but it's a public entity.

FOIA for the Post Office and Police Most of the time the trained but uneducated/uninformed police and sheriff have no idea how FOIA works. What you say to them can give them cause to accept what you say as the FOIA law. And same applies to the USPS employees. Here's an idea you are welcome to use, if you think it could be useful. When you are trying to audit the Post Office and they refuse you; try to trespass or call the police, be ready. Have two pre-prepared FOIA Request ready. 1) Make your USPS FOIA Request and populate the post office name and city information before you enter the building. Information you seek likely is: names of Postmaster and Supervisor; date of Poster 7; copies of lobby video captured on date of visit; copy of 24 Aug 2022 USPS Stand Up Talk email to all employees directing them to not engage with 1A Auditors. (And anything else you think is useful to educate these post office employees. 2) Make your PD/Sheriff FOIA Request and populate the city police department/ county sheriff name and city/count information filled in before you enter the building. You likely are seeking Body Cam video of all officers as the enter building; names and badge numbers; audio recording of any calls to PD/sheriff supervisors, copy of letter or memorandum of agreement between the post office and local law enforcement regarding responding to calls to that building. (see Poster 7); and anything else useful to educate the LEO. You can request the supervisor or postmaster accept the FOIA request and forward it on. Capture on camera if they refuse. Failure to accept the request will be registered with the USPS Office of Inspector General. EVERYONE should do this. EVERYONE should have a FOIA Request at the ready and give it out every time we enter a government office or talk to a government public servant.
