I used to have to use the Dartford crossing both ways everyday back when I was driving lorries, I definitely 100% don't miss sitting in a 10 mile traffic jam for no apparent reason! I also get a right strop on when I get stuck in traffic, that's the reason I don't drive for a living anymore, I think the other half would've buried me in a cornfield lol. As for the stay or go dilemma, only you guys can decide what is best for you. But whatever you choose we'LL still be here waiting for another video 👍🏻

Great video! crack us up. We totally get you on the traffic, we used to live in the Portsmouth area and had the same struggles, constant traffic and heavily populated. Thats why we made the decision to sell up when we first went travelling so we could find somewhere we wanted to settle later as we couldn't see ourselves going back there (As lovely as it is on the South Coast) I regularly got a cob on sat in traffic all the time. We just haven't found anywhere we want to stop yet, we're not done travelling.

Hello Ladies - It was really great to see you at the South Central Self Build Get Together meet, its a shame I didn't really get the time to chat with you after parking up all of the vans or in the evenings. Judging from the Morrisons you filled up the tank in I have been living the past four months or so really near you. I had to shield so Vanlife wasn't right for us at that time so the wife and I with two kids moved in with the inlaws. We normally live in Dorset though. camper vibe we have just moved back to Wareham in Dorset this week. But we were living about 5 mins away from that Morrison’s if it’s the one I think it is. Towards the Thames, I fact our house was facing the beach. I won’t say where as I don’t know how private you keep your area. We are hoping to go to Wales with e kids for half term and then back for the meet at the end of that week. You should be chuffed with your videos. Very watchable. Hi jayne, the problem with the UK is the people that live here unfortunately. We live by a popular vanlife spot and it's been destroyed by rubbish, litter, late night noise. When the decent normal wild Campers come now there is a lot of resentment and it's not great. I'm sure there are still lots of places to go but we don't want to have that constantly in the back of our minds, plus the weather will soon get crap lol! 🤣😁

Whilst Sanef Operations (was part of a French company, but that business is now called Emovies Operations Leeds) collect the tolls for the Dartford Crossing, it’s all actually British owned. A lot of the confusion goes back to the company operating the crossing - called Le Crossing - back in the noughties, but even that was British. I hope you enjoyed my adopted home county of Suffolk - from a Welshman married to a scot living in exile on the Suffolk coast. From someone in their late 50’s, don’t worry about travelling now when you have the benefit of youth on your side - as you said”F*** it, just go!”

By the way, you really should go on an extended trip. Even if the numbers are increasing also here in Norway, the risk of getting infected is minimal if you follow the guide lines. What you do risk, is miss seeing Europe if you dont go now. Safe travels :)

That looked like a lovely little site. I think that Lou should use her severence money to fund a full trip of the uk so that Emily can give us a two minute tour of every site 😆. I love the two minute tour👍 seriously tho girls, what a hard decision to make. Surely the van life is a kind of self isolation wherever you are but in this current climate who knows when a country could suddenly go into lock down again. I sincerely wish you both the very best whatever your decision. Oh and yes, the A2, M2, M25 and Dartford crossing seriously suck. I have lived in Cornwall for the past 18 yrs but in a previous life I lived and grew up in South East London/ Kent and used to work all over the South East and I can only imagine those roads have only got worse since then. Thanks russ, we made the jump to Cornwall some years ago and lived there for quite a while, so much better than Kent!! I swear that bit of the m25 will eventually just be at a permanent stand still! Hi, it's connected to his harness. I retro fitted an anchoring hook to one of the empty bolt holes that was left after we removed the bulkhead, gives us a nice strong fixing.

Sorry in advance, this is going to be a looooong comment lol. First off, I know what the traffic can be like between Kent and Ipswich. As you know, we're in France and my family is still in Suffolk so we do that run several times in a 'normal' year. Well done Emily on the site tour, sounds like a lovely place to stay. As for should you up-sticks and travel Europe, only you can know if it's financially viable for you. If it is, then I'd go as soon as possible. You have 4k subs, there must be several. like us, who live on the European mainland. When you do go, surely it'd make sense to have a network of people who could help if things go pear-shaped? We are about 100 km south of Calais, we have land that you could hunker down on in an emergency. We'd be happy to be part of any Camper Vibe network. Lastly, are you going to have membership on your channel? That would help with travel costs. Stay safe and looking forward to your next video. xx

I guess everyone has been trying to predict the future in the last few months and they keep on getting it all wrong - so it is a bit of a pointless game really. But if you hurry up and go away now, you could at least catch 2-3 months of nice weather in continental Europe, maybe a little beach time, some autumn colours in the forests, maybe visit some cities - and if things get worse, you can be back for the winter here. At least you would have had a bit of nice time and a taste of longer term vanlife - instead of spending the whole autumn and winter cooped up in UK - waiting for the never-arriving opportunity to go away - after you've spent a good part of the summer in lockdown already! It seems unlikely that things will improve significantly any time soon - and whatever anyone says, travelling in the winter is not quite as much fun and interesting as travelling during the warmer season - when there is vegetation and colour all around. Well, just an opinion really - there are many of them about :-). Whatever you decide to do, have a nice time!

Hey, I have also used 16mm cable for mine. In my opinion it will be fine, as long as you're not drawing huge amounts of power out of the batteries. Make sure your pos and neg are the same length to help with balancing the batteries. It is just my opinion tho. Unless your power draw is huge, so more than your average van set up.

Morning Ladies great you replied. I am always thinking of new ideas,and you tube has a vast array of blogs from converting a van to travel like.. Presently i travel just in UK.. My interests started up in two ways really. One was my Sunday /Monday health spa visits on fortnightly basis using my then Ford Mondeo 2.2 titanium and my convertible Astra. And then one day i happened to see a truck collection of Eddie Stobart trucks for sale with a glass cabinet.. Basically i collected them in my mondeo..and on collecting i said to the chap what kind of work did he do..Courier he said..i replied and said not that great..He then really shocked me and said what he had earned that week.. Sorry i worked in London as a courier and never earned close to his figure..£400 - £600 in a 10 week period.. Spent the next 4 days number crunching to see how i could get my dreams come true..his income that week was 3 x my highest figure amazing.. Love to know more about you guys and your van as it looks newer than mine. Look forward to your reply..ps i am Tim
