Great video man! Couple things I'd like to mention: Down throw to a slightly charged up smash at 0% works on Sheik and is inescapable. After that you can go for a 70(ish)% combo on her For the rising cyclone mix up, instead of going for a buffered down b, I recommend going for the double jump nair. It kills earlier, is un-escapable, and is easier. Anyway again, great video. I made a Luigi Down Throw combos video only a few days after the patch came out so there's a lot of tech that you covered that I missed.

I think d-smash is a better option at 0%, but neither smash attacks are guarantee a follow-up. In this video, he acts like Luigi relies heavily on grabs to finish stocks, which I think he's more like Mario in which you usually up smash to finish stocks. I normally just throw my opponents off stage after they are at kill percent.

Perhaps you should have specified that your weight classes for these combos are based on falling speed and gravity. For example: Pac-Man is a midweight, but is floaty af. He's not actually a lightweight at all. Also, both Samus and Yoshi are heavy. The point remains pretty much the same, but that might confuse others.

Try DThrow Footstool SideB (to cancel momentum of footstool) sweetspot DAir. That's a legit lock to force the opponent to normal get up. You could follow up with UAir Footstool SideB DAir to lock them again, but that's a little hard. Something like UAir BAir/FAir after their get up would be more reliable. Other than that, Lucina has no crazy combos, just swordhits, that link into each other (sometimes).

Personally, I think she should be heavier, but still jump high, her jab should combo into itself, her aerials should be less laggy, her down smash give more base knockback, her fair and up smash should always combo into itself, and her up air should connect to itself better but be left otherwise the same since it can combo into another up air and screwattack.

He can still kill with pretty much everything else. Luigi is no longer a huge problem..... But that doesn't change the fact that there is still a balance issue in Smash 4. Sheik, ZSS, and Rosalina are still a bit too strong while characters like Zelda, Greninja, Samus, Ganondorf, and Dr. Mario are just shit outta luck. I know that "viability lies in the player", but still. I should not have to exclusively practice with one character to stand up to higher tier fighters. It just seems a bit unfair.

Also that his up b comes out frame 2 (correct me if im wrong) or some early frame with invincibility and really is a potent kill option. People just need to get good honestly.

Thanks for the video, MSC. Your hard work will not be lost on the dedicated luigis of the world. Post patch, I've found myself depending less on that d-throw (obviously, because the combos are so varied now, as demonstrated). Still, I think Luigi is a top character. His fireball is a good trap tool, he still has insane flow if you know how get opponents back on the ground using the buffed meteor, and also "restart" combos using his very good jab. His down tilt is worth throwing out occasionally for trip chances, though it's not as useful (imo) as it used to be. He still has access to one of the most super armory moves in the game (cyclone) and a punish/kill move (fire jump). And, thanks to the shield stun patch, his up smash is now fast and strong enough to be a viable mix up option...I dare say you can almost spam it now. ***Also, does anyone know if boss (the luigi main) has played since the nerf? Curious to see how he's adapting.

So Duck Hunt is in both heavy (1:24) and medium (4:10) weight class for this video. So what is correct now? Anyway I got some combo questions: In what class do the DLC characters that were released after this video fit? Also what would be the best combo on the fast falling characters, that doesn't give them a window to escape (with a 3 frame or faster move 0:55). Good tutorial, really helpful!

If someone doesn't DI or jump well you can catch them with a down smash at low percent. It would be best to shield first in case you're fighting a character with an aerial which comes out quick. An airdodge has landing lag which makes it easier. An attack can leave your opponent with lag as well, so the down smash will likely connect. You can use any smash attack, but I use down smash.

Didn't realize Luigi was so despised. I use Luigi because he is Luigi.. all of his b attacks are bait and switch maneuvers and hard reads (except for the down throw to cyclone kill), So he plays to my strengths as a casul who doesn't read into most of the particulars like frame data and latest tech. I subscribed to your channel because I was losing every game as Luigi and didn't like it. This patch is incredibly good news for myself, who normally relies on reading opponents with an air side b or neautral b, or a falling or rising down b. Now I can actually spike people and go for more "guaranteed" up b's. You rock, dude! Thanks for the update, you're my smash corner.

Excellent video. I would have set aside some time to talk about his different options for kill setups, which he always had but dthrow was just better. - Jab to downsmash can really catch people offguard and works quite well - Obviously his backthrow is still an amazing tool - Forward smash and upsmash are great as always. Upsmash kills on landing traps and forward smash kills early on roll reads. Definitely miss that potencial downthrow to Up-B though....

Just a quick notice, Greninja has a sort of hitstun cancel, with his side-b. It's something about having to go into a tumbl animation and a 3 frame window. I'm not ENTIRELY sure though.

You can also go with a simple D-throw into Up Smash from 0 to low percents. I've also been able to D-throw, Up-smash, then turn and do an F-Smash.

a also good combo is down throw - Fair - Dair - DownB or Dair. when your opponent is close to the edge for a double spike setup or down b for a early 0 to death. when your opponent is at 0-10%

+winchellfactor It's a footstool sort of. I don't know the specifics, but that is considered a footstool somehow. That second "jump" just came because of Little Mac being directly above Luigi.

Meta Knight was a truly underated character until recently. Since your channel started with the fair spike with meta, it would be fitting to see a video showcasing his combos. This is just a idea and i feel like he is one of the best combo characters in the game. He also has some cool zero to death footstool combos to work with also. Cheers

I think that it's the fourth frame of diddy's upair that hit luigi, and a move faster than frame 4 makes the combo a trade

You know how you talked about his Downthrow->Downair combo? Well I've known about this one for a while and before you go right into the smash attack, you can up tilt and then up smash.

Yes, many throws are weight-based. The whole animation changes speed depending on opponent weight. Also, you showed Diddy's frame 4 Uair break out. It doesn't have to be a frame 3 aerial.
