An old video but this still should've been mentioned at the time. The Mario's up special at the end of the ladder combo (the third one in the video) can be used as a DI mixup. Aside from the fact that the first hit of it is slightly stronger an unsuspecting opponent will also be caught trying to DI outward and instead end up DIing inward. It's mentioned in Zenyou vs SlayerZ and Zenyou as other Marios make use of this to KO even earlier than one would expect (IIRC Zenyou's set with ZeRo at ZeRo Saga had that happen.)

they did show some non training mode combos. you can tell because there's always a bar on the right in training mode. you can turn the bar off but there's still an indication showing its usually there.

But the main reason, and this is not my idea, I heard it from the YTber Meta of Smash, is that Ultimate has a lot less universal tech, most of the tech is hyper character specific stuff. Not only that, but Smash Ultimate has a much higher casual audience in comparison to competitive audience, even compared to Sm4sh, and the peeps at BSD found that a meme review style Smash Review has a lot more viewers than the tech videos they were doing at the start of Ult. Not to say I didn't like the tech videos, I liked learning more things about the game in general, but now BSD just isn't a channel I watch for that

I made up another combo! Its called the Rebel Combo. Here's what you do. Grab, D-Throw, then do an immediate D-Tilt (twice is optional at certain percentages, more likely around the 0-30%) Grab again, repeat but if its over 30% only down tilt ONCE. If its at high percentages, don't down tilt at all, and do an aerial attack. The flaw is, they can just jump out of it, or do a fast attack, but they most likely air dodge and that's your chance to grab again.

I feel like you should've pointed out Mario's 2 strongest hitboxes of his upb on one side it does 1% on the other it does 0% and they both happen about halfway through the up b in zero's case if he had of sdi'ed in so that he got hit by the last hit of Mario's up b, which is weaker, he also would've survived. and in some cases if you hit with these 2 hitboxes it creates guaranteed ko's from the up air strings no matter what stage. And we also get Ally's 0-death at 0

Mew two has amazing combos. Remember when shock used him on for glory for the first time and did that confusion into shadow ball thing? Well it also works with a fully charged shadow ball. And also up tilt into up smash. Mewtwo's up tilt is kinda like Marth where it has higher knock back at the tip. However if u hit it with the weaker part of the up tilt it has much lower knock back allowing to combo into up smash. However for each combo there is a tiny segment of frames where the opponent can escape. However it's hard to escape these combos.

And these frames are in between the 2 moves for each combo. Mewtwo can also do down throw or down tilt into fair which is a fast kill move now that it's buffed. And it's kinda broken.

Mario's Up-B can kill... You just need to hit with the back the of Up-B's hitbox to kill at crazy low percentages with maximum rage. I KO'd a Sheik doing an Up-Throw D-Air to Up-B on Omega Town and City. She died at 17%

I main mario. There's something you missed that is actually really important that I hope you can gain. Mario's Up B is actually way more complex than what meets the eye. There are 5 coins in full. All with different variants of knockback. If i wanted to just hit someone with the 5th coin its a timing and positioning thing. Which leads me to me point: The middle coin (or the 3rd coin) has the LARGEST knockback percent rate. Which means for Mario mains out there, if we are positioned perfectly and do a Reverse Up B after the UpAir strings we can try to hit with JUST the 3rd coin and kill even earlier. If the last coin does hit (the 5th coin) which has less knockback (not a huge amount less) it will actually cancel the 3rd knockback coin rate. And the 4th coin has the same knockback rate as the 1-3rd coins. Rage is of course a factor in it all, but it goes without saying sometimes. I know this may be long-winded but i really thought it would be helpful. Credit to the SoCal player Zenyou for showing me this. Thanks for this video though. Even I learned something. How can you play so fast, I can't use moves very fast. I either mess up, point the control stick the wrong way, or just plain can't do it anyway fast. So I know Amiibos are normally fast, but when I try to use moves too fast, it either doesn't do the move and I fail and die. I'm actually good at smash bros with real life people but when I go on For Glory, it's a whole different thing. So I'm mostly casual.

For those saying Mario takes no skill, remember that you have to hit every attack correctly for you to get those crazy strings. You also have to read the opponent to even get a grab or half way from finishing a string, Mario can be juggled easily and a lot of characters can pull some crazy strings on him specifically. If Mario truly didn't take any skill he would be #1 on the tier list the pros play to win after all.

When I see this kind of video, I memorize what I live for the Glory. The only difference is that my opponents play ground with this technique. I do not think it could go further. I just saw a method with the grabs again. Now, it is madness for you.

Might be a dumb question, but how do you DI a True Shoryuken or Rosalumas Up Tilt and other attacks with vertical knockback on the 3DS? With my brother, I tested it like this: He taunted to avoid e.g. crouching, then I executed the attack. Then we checked the launch distance and it was the same with every single DI. This method worked for horizontal knockback, e.g. Roys Side Smash. But I'm also a bit confused because of the Vectoring and DI mix and the patching/removal of Vectoring. Out of those 5 characters that cant air dodge through Mario's upair, only Ganon and Dedede don't have a way to break it. DK has a frame 3 up special, Ryu has frame 1/3 shoryu + frame 1 focus, and Jigglypuff has rest. So basically DK can mash out and make you eat 30%, Jigglypuff can mash out and kill you at 15%, and Ryu can mash out in 1 of three different ways either killing you at 60%, 40%, or just get to the ground with you in a horrible position Random useless thing but Bayo should not be able to

The Ally combo doesn't scare me very much. Villager can Nair to escape, and Rosalina falls too slow to be punished for dodging.

At kill percents, what about Bair (to kick them offstage)--> jump offstage --> fully charged FLUDD. Will that push them into the blast zone?

I've been using Ally combo to bair-bair-uair. Also usmash if possible Oh man, it was good idea to use Mario as secondary :D

So Mario's upstring combo only works well with platforms... Mario is a platformer... Perfect
