Call up our 3rd string goalie... Campbell. Seems to be working for the Canucks. It's honestly fricken exhausting believing in Skinner. If he's not inspiring the fans, how on earth can he be inspiring his team? The short answer is, he's not. I think I vommited in my mouth for the first time when I saw Skinner go back in the net at the end. .792 SV%, .842 SV%, .733 SV%. These are mind numbing numbers. That's how bad the situation has become. Any AHL goalie would pull off better numbers than that. For those defending Skinner and blaming the D, every single defense pairing screws up multiple times in every game, your goalie is suppose to save their ass when they do screw up not the other way around. It's hard to watch the entire team bust their ass only to witness the worst goalie in the playoffs to garner another SV% below .800. This isn't even close to pro level goaltending. I'm done with this guy. Just an awful goalie. I wouldn't be surprised if Holland traded him this summer. If we don't win this series, I'd say the probability of Skinner being traded this summer is pretty high. I feel bad for Connor and Leon, Skinner continues to burn up their chances for a cup in their peak years. Go Oilers!

Anyone who knows hockey, who has played the game, who has been in championship games, knows this is all on Skinner and the coach. Skinner is not a Stanley cup goalie and he is killing the teams confidence. The team pace for the oilers was way too slow and the coach should have got them up to speed way early on in the game. The oilers speed and pressure is what beat van in game 2. What happened to that? Whoever is in love with Skinner on Oilers management needs to be fired.

Chris, what else needs to happen for you to remove Skinner from the base? Chris, you are a great coach who turned a team into a team. I've been writing for 2 years that Woodcraft is constantly disfiguring the team by shuffling players from link to link. Woodcroft was removed and a great coach was found. But Skinner's problem is very serious, he spent an ugly regular season, he always looks insecure, with complex faces, with a complete lack of desire to fight for anything. If Jack even spoke, it's my fault, I'm a bad goalkeeper. Skinner told us after the first defeat against Vancouver that he played well and that he was not bad...That's exactly why he's not getting better - he's genuinely convinced that he's a star. His game is terrible, he will bury all the chances of the team for the cup. It is better to lose with any other goalkeeper, but it is unacceptable for a team to put a goalkeeper who is so out of shape. He negates all the efforts of the guys. They are nervous, they cannot play their hockey because each of them knows that any shot at their goal will turn into a goal. The best thing you can do is sell Skinner, and yes, the best assessment of him as a goalkeeper would be that I do not know any NHL club that would take him even for free...

You could see this coming. Pickard should have been the started all along. Skinner is NOT a #1 goalie and is being upstaged by an AHL goalie who has a functional and sizable defence. This is on Holland for rewarding Darnell with a contract that canabalized any ability to bring in more qualified defencemen. Keeping Ceci when he could have moved him was a rookie mistake. There are NO excuses here. Holland has to decide whether he is concerned with the alleged McDavid/Nurse friendship or with winning a Cup. Darnell's penalty that led to the winning goal is one that he has done repeatedly. Riddle me this...if and when either 29 and 97 leave, will we feel warm and fuzzy about keeping Darnell? This team has a history of making poor decisions. And one of them is not getting a true goalie coach. Any time Skinner lets in 3 goals in a period, he should be pulled immediately. This is a joke.

We had so many bad turnovers, couldn't clear the zone, and had ZERO contribution from our other lines. We got enough pp chances to even it up.

He also got us into that deep dark hole at the beginning of the season. When the smoke cleared from that disastrous beginning, Campbell became the chosen fall guy when they both were abysmal. Technically Campbell became the sacrificial lamb to clear the way for Skinner's NHL career. Campbell's career was ruined and Skinner was chosen to be the rising star. How's that working out for Skinner so far? Like every NHL player always says in every interview, the regular season doesn't matter. No one cares what happens in the regular season. Don't blame the haters, blame every NHL player that says playoff hockey is the only thing that matters. Apparently Skinner never got that memo for 2 playoff runs in a row. And for the record, the hating on Skinner is not personal. It's directed toward his sub .900 and sub. 800 playoff performances for 2 consecutive years. Numbers like that aren't even close to being a pro NHL goalie and he's our #1? Seriously? I'm not banging the drum for Campbell, but I guarantee you Campbell can do a helluva lot better than that. Those numbers will sink any team in the playoffs. But since Campbell will never play another Oiler game in his NHL career (according to inside rumours) we now have to rely on Calvin Pickard. A guy that was called up to open and close the gate for the players not to carry the Edmonton Oilers on his back. When you step back and put everything into perspective, you might start understanding why Skinner is losing thousands of fans by the hour.

Sportsnet really needs to address the low dialog audio problems.When Ron threw to Gene Principe, he Mic was so low, he was drowned out by the fan noise. Then Chris and Craig's play by play was low for the start of the game. Clearly the sound guy has his center channel audio mixed up with the crowd noise mics. Kinda Mickey Mouse for a huge spotlight series.
