The Armoured Update A.K.A "Armour Overhaul" is our 10-month long journey to rework our entire tank and armoured vehicle system. This new system features new, more advanced simulated tank logic with realistic shells and gameplay mechanics such as internal spalling, high explosive-filled shells and penetration simulation.
With this update, we have raised the bar for excellent tank combat to compete with some of the best tank systems available on the market, all within a very dynamic combined arms environment.

This game is not casual gamer friendly, this game have a very difficult learning curve and will consume hours of your day. Spending money to mass market this is a waste of finance. I am a marketing grad, doing SEO and AI marketing for this game will be challenging, and the ROI will be questionable, if you market this game massively. Targeting history buff people who likes to play milsim games is a difficult profile to target. I promise you it's very very difficult to figure out how to effectively market this game with a promising ROI.

Every somewhat functional product has its market, you just have to find the right target group and then use the right marketing approach. Bla-bla Life has a gameplay video from AT infantry perspective in a beta test, there you can see how much dificult Is now to damage tanks even whit "infinite ammo". Limiting ammo is one solution to fix suicide AT infantry, but Is not the only one

Well I mean when game tries to be as realistic as possible, AT guns and small AT guns are your worst enemy as a tanker, so it was back in the 40's. Can't imagine how many tanks got knocked out with Panzerschrecks and Fausts and satchel charges etc.

@@rowennjohnmartinez5108 Unsurprisingly when you don’t interact or support your community for a year and a half it will start to die, This is seen in all game communities which aren’t supported by their devs, Battlefield 5, Minecraft, R6 and world of tanks are just a few examples to look at of how playerbases will go elsewhere if their game isn’t up kept. The player count is now currently at a rock bottom low of around 300-400 players depending on weekends and time zones, On reddit, on KZbin and even on steam it’s a general consensus that the game and its community isnt in a good place right now due to the devs unsupporting it, and now they expect an armored rework to magically fix everything, You can keep adamantly defending the devs and their poor actions as much as you like, that won’t change the fact that the player base is poor right now and people aren’t that happy.

Post Scriptum has been out longer so it isn't logical to compare future updates. Post Scriptum has an SDK + modding community as well -- if you include the potential there that argument is even more questionable. Nice try though! I hope HLL improves but at the moment it's very basic.

@@alphaclam Having a larger and more stable player count does indicate a game, and more specifically its dev team’s superiority in its marketing, community relations, gameplay, content, updates etc. since all are factors which are needed to uphold such a count. HLL currently has both the western and eastern fronts, with better map design, a better and more diverse platter and of weapons on offer and more actual diverse theaters of war. Currently PS only has Market Garden, The Battle of France and DDAY, of which the 1st has the same looking and plain maps, the 2nd has buggy maps which have issues alongisde not being present a lot on rotations, and the 3rd barely is present on server rotation cycles and apart from carentan has the same deal as the OP market garden maps both in map play and weaponry. PS has and still has a bulky price to pay for, and you’d think for that that the Dev team behind that would dedicate themselves to the same level as HLL’s, but no. The Dev team literally gave the community no content for 18 months, thinking that drip feeding info on 1 map and showing a roadmap of which we’ve heard really nothing else about would do. meanwhile HLL received the eastern front, more community interaction and more consistently updates, alongside receiving a large part of PS’s playerbase. The SDK and modding platform release, while nice still falls short, due to the like 5 servers left not wanting to adopt anything other than a bare bare handful or improvement mods and rarely a map, So while there is potential, not a whole lot of the new stuff people are making will be used due to the player count being so low, Which makes you wonder why the SDK wasn’t released when the game was at its player count high or when it obviously started to initially drop off, they released it when the player count was already near rock bottom and it didn’t really do a whole lot. HLL’s dev team didn’t hamstring their player base with nothing for 18 months and then give them a small update which only affects a small percentage of each lobby’s players.

@@suityboi2126 By your logic COD:Vanguard is the best WW2 multiplayer game. Like most of the other things you've said, this is not true. HLL has higher environmental LOD but it doesn't have better map design. I don't believe it has many more weapons than PS either, while Post Scriptum has more vehicles. PS's vehicles are *far* superior already, and they'lll be even better after this update! Everything else you critiqued is subjective. The server rotation is dependent on the server you're on. BR1 has been the most popular PS server as of late, and it has all the maps in rotation. Your grammar is a little choppy so it is hard to understand what your point is regarding the SDK -- if you even have a point -- but the majority of content being made by the community isn't finished yet. The SDK came out like a year ago...maybe less. It takes time for people to create high quality content, so it makes no sense to expect its release to immediately rocket up player numbers. The new content has to be created first. You clearly have unreal expectations if this is the metric you choose to evaluate the SDK feature by. The devs have said that they will work with mod developers to include future high quality content into the base game, including new maps/factions/weapons. We'll have to see. But HLL will never get this feature. Math must not be your strong suit. Post Scriptum has just as many theaters of war as HLL, and more factions. The Armor Update is relevant to about ~30% of each lobby simultaneously. Fortunately you're not locked into infantry vs armor, so in reality it's relevant to everyone!

They just blured the part of a M1 garand with wrong model number to fix the problem, they didn't update their gun assets with inaccuracies, they just covered it up. Every soldier in every map of Post Scriptum have historically accurate and appropriate uniforms. They all have different company patches, color pallettes, cammos and highlights. You will not see the same soldier uniform of a US soldier in Operation Market Garden and Operation Overlord maps. Every weapon loadouts are inline with the map and the year. You can only find the Falschirmjager with FG42 infantry battalion in Carentan. Battle of carentan is accurately depicted in PS, you will see the 101st Airborne Division and 2nd Falschirmjager Parachute division accurately represented. Where is my FG42 in Carentan in HLL? Why there are germans with white camo and trench coats in Carentan? Where is my Falschirmjager squad huh? HLL only look cool, but it has less substance than PS. only the map and indoors got attention in HLL, the rest are generic shit.

I mean i get the passion , but the biggest issue was that it took 9.5 months before they cared enough to keep the community notified about any news. It's the community managers job to keep the community news section up to date and he failed in that regard very heavily so people just moved on when it got repetetive & boring. Also small patches & QOL , how hard can it be to fix minor issues? You know how many people would be so happy to see small fixes being pushed out just to see that the devs care , the whole damn community. But you know staying silent , patching nothing and putting all your efforts on a huge patch without keeping the community somewhat notified good enough to know when it would have released , killed off a huge amount off the active playerbase to a point only the hardcore fans still are left roaming around.

Wow this is really awesome. Really like that they added manual gears too. Adds way more depth to the gameplay. Already thought of a sneaky tactic to kill infantry when out of regular HE. Make a shell bounce of a tank to kill the inf who is walking in front of it.

There is nothing inherently wrong with a tank "taking 12 direct hits," it depends on the weapon it is taking fire from, whether the part of the tank being hit is well armored or would realistically be penetrated, etc.

Looks decent, but I'd love to see them polish the spalling and post-pen damage with rounds. Just noticing that the AP round fired by the Sherman doesn't really have much shrapnel at all, but during the tests done by the Brits, it was found that AP shells were just as effective, if not more effective than APHE shells due to a lack of mechanical parts, while also maintaining the same (if not greater) penetration potential. Don't forget that the shell crushes and turns into its own shrapnel when it penetrates, causing that cone to be much scarier than it appears to be in the simulation. However, I do have to give credit to the devs for making a system where the initial hit to the armor can scatter sparks and shrapnel outside the tank. I think that's pretty unique to Post Scriptum because I haven't saw this simulated anywhere else.

It should be stated that most of the allies aphe was horrible in the damage department. Games like war thunder drastically increases the damage aphe does. (Though it should be stated German and Japanese shells aphe was generally better) hence why the Germans kept with aphe. Also the whole it works a lot better against fortifications than pure he or pure ap.

Excellent Update. Engine compartment damage moddeling is very well made. I just think that especially for heavy guns, the internal damage to crew needs to be increased a tad. Any tank crew should be forced to exit the vehicle after a single penetrating hit of the fighting compartment. It will motivate players to keep their distance to enemy tanks and rely on precise gunnery rather than rapid fire.

Post is better than HLL in almost every way except for map fidelity. The HLL maps are nice. But thats it. Sadly PS community is tiny now because the devs have ignored what the game needs for well over a year... instead they do things like this new armour system.

It should be noted that HE shells don't exactly produce a circular fragment pattern but due to shell construction, angle of impact and momentum. Most fragments will end up on the sides and a few in the front, with very little fragments behind the impact. Soft ground also reduces the effectiveness of HE shells by letting them sink into the ground before detonating. I wonder if that's going to be implemented 🤔

this looks cool! late shermans did however only have their ammo stowed in the floor with 5 rounds in a ready rack in the turret. i do hope the wet stowage will be modeled.

At this point, you guys should consider making a new game that forbodes combined arms, and is solely focused on tank combat in a cooperative setting like this God knows there's a huge demand for multiplayer tank games, but only like 1 or 2 that actually deliver, and people are desperate for a new tank game

Keep in mind that the M62 shell from the 76mm gun had better penetration against German armor because A., German tanks used FHA steel armor and B., the M62 shell was capped.
