We use it frequently against anything more heavy than panzer IV: Shoot 2 rounds, switch to smoke, get the hell out, repair, go back in ...

I like how they have made the tanks more realistic in recent updates, but the damage model seems way off. It doesn't take two Tiger's 10+ shots each to kill a Sherman. The amount of spalling from all those shots would have made the crew inside mincemeat. A Cromwell being shot in the side just under the turret takes 5 shots to kill? An M3 Stuart taking 4 shots from a Tiger and it's still operational? I don't know if War Thunder is unrealistic, but I feel like that games damage model is a lot more accurate. Even with a solid AP shot with no explosive filler, out of a Tiger's 88 at that range would destroy those tanks in those situations in like 2-3 shots max.

in war thunder aphe is supposed to go in a cone shape when entering a tank instead of a full 360 degree, at least thats what i read from a person and im not an expert

War Thunder has fasley raised people's expectations a bit too much on how much damage is caused by a penetration. There's many interesting irl cases that would be seen as broken or unrealistic if they were in a game. Like the Sherman driver who had a shell from a Nashorn's long 88mm gun go between his legs leaving him unharmed. Or the M18 that took 5 shots from an AT gun killing 3 of the crew but the gunner continued to fire 20 shells until it was eliminated. Not that PS is perfectly accurate to irl. But War Thunder is also far from perfect. Not even the APHE shell post penetration works accurately in War Thunder. Another annoying thing in War Thunder is all tanks need to blow up to be "dead". While in PS it's much more realistic where a tank can be effectively dead in the first 1 or 2 shots and just sit there empty of crew and/or mechanically disabled. Like the Cromwell at the end of this video appears to be knocked out after the first shot but they continue to fire just to be safe. This is very accurate to what was done in WWII

Something else that's got to be considered is fun. Is it realistic to be caught by someone with a good ambush position and observers passing on information, and die in one hit when said ambush hits you right in the ammo? Yes, but is it *fun* to die that way?

Yeah tanks are now almost impossible to crew kill or hull break, only real counter is another tank or commander bombs it. AT rifle and shoulder launchers are basically useless too only good for tracking a tank

No, it hit the Puma, and Pumas are very (!) prone to burning and exploding...

Have you guys played WWIIOL? It looks like PS took inspiration from it, WW2OL is a huge half scale map of west europe and persistant server 24/7. The enemy players in PS shock me, they are terrible and never attack or flank you guys it seems lol
