Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

The Rebel Wee-Craw is a great addition to your arsenal when you're dealing with flooded or high-water situations in streams. It has a super wide wobble, almost a "walk", and it will call up bass that are having deal with the extra noise and current from the high water. Definitely will help you pick up those extra bites.

I would suggest fishing with the flow, and also if you do fish that craw, the whole point of a crawfish is to get those less active fish, so you want to retrieve it very very slowly, smaller jigs too! Anything works though! 😜

What we you use for conditions similar to this in a smaller creek. I fished with a craw fish imitation today and had a 3 pounder on but it got off a couple feet from shore cuz I didn't set the hook hard enough. Also seen some 5 pounder under some fallen trees and jigged right in his face but he didn't bite.

Try bright colors in those murky conditions, even with your tubes. You need something that's going to pop and catch their attention at a greater distance in those conditions. Rattles help too, I know it's hard not to want to throw natural colors for smallies but in those conditions you need to.

i fish the Patapsco river river all the time. Was out at the Avalon super loop today. Got one dink smallie on the fly rod. Love the video! Check out the ponds off bellgrove road. Been a bit off this year but last season we pulled some major toads off the rocks(6+lb largemouth). Tight lines!

You would love fishing around northwest ontario, I guide at a fishing lodge north of lake of the woods and occasionally do fly outs to smallmouth bass lakes that are only fished 12 times a year. You can have days where you catch up to 200, 18" + smallies.

So Mike(hope that's your name 1rod), there's a lure called Bass Pro Shops Tourney Crankbait. the color is threadfin tuna, an it is the best lure I've ever used in my whole life an u have 900 cranks, 39,000 senkos an well everything. but I have the most in that lure up top. it swims straight than goes up to the surface like a dying batfish in my state (shad) an has a hell of a loud couple rattlers in it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERY PERSON WHO FISH'S FOR BASS TO GET THE BASS PRO SHOPS TOURNEY CRANKBAIT!
