I saw Mike Siegel run a nine pack on Nick Varner and Nick Varner was titty hooked and did a two-rail kick into the 2 ball, making it into the side, then he ran run a nine pack to tie it back up. This was in the 90s. The pockets may have been a little bit bigger back then, but the cloth was slower.

@@billsmith8825 I saw that too. I’m not saying the greatest play where you have to make amazing shots, I’m saying perfect play where you make zero mistakes. I think Gorst got on the wrong side of the ball twice in this match. Those were his only mistakes and he ran out anyway.

This is how high level pool should be played Oscar had his chances three to be exact 1. The Lag 2. The two rail kick 3. The Straight back one ball bank shot or safe which he didn't know if he wanted to, bank it or play safe. He was indecisive on that one. And Fedor ran a 4 pack (break & run) not five (5). At 2-0 Fedor played a push-out Oscar went for the bank and safe then Fedor banked the one in the side then ran out but wasn't a break n run to make it 3-0 after which he ran the set out! Thus 4 pack not 5

I don’t give a S--T: Alex did the right thing by picking Alcaide. FSR being a rookie NEEDED his counterpart to break him in, and as champions of the WCoP they BOTH do deserve to be there as the best teammates - as well on their own merit, as David has obviously won even more over the years than FSR. Therefore, even though I AGREE that Fedor *ON HIS OWN* should have gotten the nod due to his scorching play as of late, the captain has to PICK A COHESIVE TEAM… once again “TEAM” and so I wish Gorst the best in the coming 12 months and would obviously love to see him in the MC once again! 👍

What is Fedor putting under the cue ball during his break?
@thewizard60922 жыл бұрын
A piece of cloth, the same as the table. Clubs usually keep these pieces of cloth that are left over. Players use it for the break in order to avoid damaging the table cloth, especially if they hit low on the break. Sometimes it's used for jumps as well in clubs, though I haven't seen the pros do it, only on the break.

whats with the napkin under the cue ball at the break ?
@dzarren2 жыл бұрын
That's a piece of pool table cloth. If you break hard from the same place, it will eventually wear out the cloth right on that spot, especially with guys that jack up the cue a bit when breaking.
@jeffboswell682 жыл бұрын
And even if you don't angle down very much, the cue ball actually burns the cloth, ever so slightly. Over time it wears a thin spot and misdirects any ball rolling over it. I've played at a few "high-end" halls that actually have rack girls and they require a break pads.

How was Fedor able to hit the 6ball first after the break on the 3rd rack? Can someone explain
@post-up2 жыл бұрын
Players have the option to “push out” on the shot immediately after the break. If the player calls a push out they can push the cue ball to any position on the table with no restrictions on which ball they must hit and without any need to contact a rail. After the push out the incoming player has the option to shoot the shot from the position it was push to, or force the player who pushed to shoot the shot that they created.

@thewizard60922 жыл бұрын
Yes, after one of he frames you can see Oscar raising his hand. Otherwise, you have to make the shot, no matter how easy it is. You can do this at some tournaments, but at the top level, you cannot concede a frame, only the match. At least I think so. That's also why Fedor played the 10 four rails.. It was for the spectators, even if he had missed, Oscar already conceded the match. So it's more of entertaining the crowd, since it's not all that difficult, rather than rubbing it in or showboating, as some people might seem to think. Great of him to pot it though on the first try. He played flawlessly. Truly a master!

Winner breaks is the most antiquated and absolute worst format. This happens regularly with high level players. Not taking anything away from the amazing skill. But this is more like watching someone practice than a match. Not a very legitimate competition if one person is aloud to break and run out literally every game.
@nimeshpatel4572 Жыл бұрын
Correct - I don't think the winner breaks format has a place in pool where the game is trying to become a 'professional' sport if that makes sense. Has to be alternate and a lot of older generation players agree.

I'm with you, and in a recent tournament I played in it was alternating break. It's just kind of tiring and drawn out to remember whose break it is when you're dead focused and you win a rack then you have to turn it over to your opponent.
