OMG That was a throwback to the 80's for me. I forgot about those machines. I always want to put the money in and pull the lever for my mom. Also the sound of the big mailboxes doors would make when they closed. COOL Stuff

That was wonderful. I have an old cast iron letter box, the kind with a Beaver cast on the side, restored and painted the original olive drab. It is just like the one that used to be at Disneyland Main Street near the entrance, which was the place my mother told me i should go to wait for her if we ever got separated. One time we did get separated and i went to the mailbox and waited ... and waited ... and waited. I got to know that Beaver very well. My mother eventually did show up. Many years later i bought the same kind of mailbox on eBay, and had a friend restore it for me.

I love the old stamp machines. I came very close to buying one not long ago. I also saw a mailbox recently but they wanted way too much for it. I remember those postal mailboxes on Main Street at Magic Kingdom. They were painted green if I remember correctly. I think they applied a unique WDW postmark on your letters, too.

Awesome video! Very cool. Randy did you hear that Gilligan's in OC is closing after 94 year's. They are supposed to build a hotel there. So sad.

@@MainStreetRANDYLAND I live in the Bronx and they are on every other corner still...Plus there are 5 post offices within a couple miles. Maybe in rural areas they stopped using them, plus idiots vandalized many, I'm sure.

@@stonedcommander I don't know any areas that still have them; certainly to any amount as they once were so I don't see any... I don't see any in Orlando either. Used to be near Publix supermarket... Long gone Maybe big city, but not around areas outside of heavy population
