138 meetings and still they haven't "figured" this out 😂. Here's the thing: the House of Commons is only relevant to the Corporations that sponsor it. The international community is above this House, and it's watching Very Closely. Big Picture Time.

Canada Post is way too top heavy, they are paying enormous salaries and that is the reason they are "going bankrupt" and why they are so inefficient, that anything new they try is a failure! Get rid of the top heavy staff.

The prices that Canada Post charges to send parcels is outrageous. Can you imagine the service charges they would apply to banking. Letting banks get into Insurance was a big mistake, now they want Canada Post to get into banking.

I would rather bury my money in the yard than leave it in the hands of people who leave their van with a parcel pickup notice to stick on my door instead of my package, and without even attempting to ring my bell. The hands of people in a government union who can't be fired for poor performance.

@@akashaofthenile6077 I have complained, multiple times. I have them on my ring camera sitting in the van, writing out multiple pickup notices, and sticking them on people's door instead of attempting delivery. They will not do second delivery attempts once they've dropped off a pickup notice.

There is a reason why Amazon has pulled their packages from CP. CP is pretty much a junk mail distribution system as is, I can see little in their future. By the way I confronted the local office on the practice of driving around with my parcel and leaving me a pick up notice.

Could you imagine the opportunities for Canadians, if we had our own bank? We could use the interest rates to pay for services, like retirement and education. (After operating costs, etc) everyone would win except the top 1% What happened in 68? The WEF creeped into parliament

Each country instead of corporations. Greed leads to privatization... Bank monopoly is a bad think, leads to high interest rates, no options. With AI, it will be a lot easier to track corruption. We know where the rotten apples are.

There was a big plan before JFK was knocked off and he tried to stop it. The powerful and wealthy and interest groups don't give 2 shits about citizens. I think credit unions are the closest to a real citizen-owned bank. Folks should take their money there.

France…when I visited 20 years ago, one couldn’t convert travellers checks at the local bank. Why you ask. Most banks didn’t have actual cash, and only larger communities had this “service”. I guess they were way in front of Canada in debanking people, making tap and go credit common place.

Every time I go to get cash in the bank, I have to wait for a long time. When I did banking online, I had to go to the bank for a new password because it didn't work. Banks make so much profit, but don't do any service.

Canada post can’t even run an efficient post office in our town. Especially at Christmas. They haven’t figured out that they need to increase staff. Parcels sometimes take two weeks to get from the nearest city into our hands.

The main flaw in his case for post office banking is this. He says it could be profitable for post offices, but then says they would service "underserved" areas not having bank branches. Those areas don't have bank branches because it's not profitable. It's 2024, and most commerce is not done using cash, and can be done online, with credit cards, etc. That's the biggest reason for fewer bank branches. This guy is stuck in 1987.

The so called Canadian Democratic system as it exists right now (and for some time) does not prioritize Canadian citizens best interests. There are several theories as to who's best interests it serves but as I see it change and/or reform is needed

The post office was closed in 2 communities. Far away to get mail now. The post office wanted to amalgamate 3 postal offices into 1, with no help or money to expand the packages that come with the increase.

As Canadians, do u trust CP banking run by federal govt in your banking needs? Govt will have more access to ut financials, close or freeze ur accounts, and dictate how much $$$ allowed. NO THANK YOU

These MPs are so detached from reality that they seriously considering adding banking services for a Crown Corp. that failed the only service it exists for. It’s no wonder when you have taxpayer paid postal expenses.

I am frequently in europe, italy to be exact, and I find that bancoposte which is the post office banking system is much more user friendly than the banks, plus in many remote little towns you find a bancoposte, tiny, but you will not find a bank. I think it's a cultural issue more than anything. In italy, France and Switzerland the post office has been used as bank for as far back as I can remember amd it is part of the fabric.

I think combining a postal outlet with banking is a good idea in areas where those services aren't offered. It could be run well, but I don't want the Federal gov't having anything to do with my banking.
