My 85 year old father in law had similar situation in 1977. Our 8 year old neighbor noticed George had not taken his milk out of the milk box. The boy looked in window and saw George on the floor. He ran home and told his mom who called the police. George had a stroke 2 days earlier. He survived for another few months. His wife was in the hospital with a broken hip at the same time. Please check on your neighbors.

So glad she was saved God is good ❤amen 🙏. I carried mail for 30 years and in California we had a system where a red label was placed on the mailbox and the senior customer had to pick up their mail everyday and if not we would check on them . I wish it would be put back into the postal routine. ❤

Kayla, my husband and I are in our seventies. He was a mail carrier for over thirty years. He used to tell me about how he was trained as a carrier to be more than just the mailman. He said you have to be an advocate and be watchful of your route, someone’s life could depend on it. Kayla your story shows just how right he was. Thank you for being a Good Neighbor and a Great Mailcarrier!😊

Neighborhoods are not like the old days, you don't know your neighbor today and people tend to mind their own business. Postal workers are usually the ones to call for help.
@carolyntruluck3152Ай бұрын
@@lindaangus2307 not my neighborhood. We stay alert and if we see something not right we respond. I live in a small southern town and we know each other and keep a check on each other. Out postmen or post women would ask one of the neighbors if we knew what was going on.

A postal worker saved my great aunt and great uncle. After mail was not picked up for 3 days she knocked at the door, and like the officer heard "help!" Turned out my uncle had had a heart attack while in the bath tub, and while hurrying to help him my aunt slipped and fell and broke "something". (It's been decades so I don't remember.) Ambulance took them to hospital. Uncle died shortly thereafter but Aunt Goldie lived for s few more years. Thank you postal workers!

Thank God for this young woman. I live on a rural route. My mailbox is at the bottom of my street, about 1/2 a football field’s distance. I’m disabled and can’t walk that far anymore. My mail may pile up for days! I have a larger box, so the carrier really stuffs it full. They even left the door open in the rain and my mail got soaked. It’s a good thing nothings ever happened to me; Post Office obviously doesn’t care, nor my neighbors. I could be dead for days having my dogs and cats eating my dead carcass before anyone noticed.
@minemoore697Ай бұрын
That is not always true. I called the police that someone was pounding on my windows it was 3am. 3 hours later and they still hadn't come. Who ever it was finally left.
